Indian Creek Marina Breakwater Removal Solicitation Number: W912P9-16-Q-0059

(previous Solicitation Number: W912P9-16-Q-0003)

Question 1: (Please note the highlighted areas of section 4: 4.1 from pages 6 and 7 below. We are a bit confused by the measurements verses the weight. The total is said to be 800 feet long weighing 16,000 pounds per linear foot totaling 264,000 pounds but when you do the math, the total weight would equal 12,800,000. Should it be 800 feet long weighing only 330 pounds per linear foot for an approximate weight of 264,000 pounds?)

Answer 1: The unit weight of the structure was incorrectly stated as approximately 16,000 pounds per linear foot. The correct unit weight is approximately 330 pounds per linear foot. The total weight shown remains the same, approximately 264,000 pounds or 132 tons.

Question 2: Up to 6 ton concrete anchors, that could be stuck in the silt, may require 2 to 3 times that force to dislodge the anchor if its silted in. To bring in the proper equipment to safely remove the anchors will required equipment loaded on to barges. In section 4.11 (Boat Ramp Closure), it states that the boat ramp can only be closed for 5 consecutive days. As narrow of access at the boat ramp, it could take day or even up to day and one half to 2 days to set in the barge sections, put together and load on the equipment. then the process would also be needed to unload the equipment and take barge sections apart and load out. Put we also need to have time for utilizing the ramp for structure removal.

Is the 5 consecutive days, meaning that, at the most at one time it can be shut down M-F, So we could utilize a day the prior week or even a day after the full week as long as it is a M-F? Other words, we could put the barge together Thursday or Friday the week prior to the full week shut down?
