Summary of Design Document Package for Lake Pontchartrain Foreshore Risk Reduction Repairs

This is a comprehensive design drawing package for the Lake Pontchartrain & Vicinity (LPV) Foreshore Risk Reduction Repairs project covering Reaches 1, 2, 3, and 4 in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, issued this solicitation (W912P825BA015) in February 2025 to execute stone dike cap repairs and wave berm restoration work along approximately 30 miles of foreshore. The project involves constructing graded stone dike caps at elevation +4.5 feet NAVD88 across all four reaches totaling over 20,000 linear feet, combined with wave berm repairs using clay embankment fill and splash pads constructed with 200-pound graded stone.

Work requirements include stone dike cap construction using 2,200-pound graded stone in accordance with specification section 35 31 19, wave berm repairs with clay fill embankment (specification section 31 24 00.12), splash pad installation with geotextile separator fabric (specification section 31 05 19.04), and erosion control through fertilizing, seeding, and mulching (specification section 32 92 19.04). The repairs span Reach-1 from station 0+00 to 109+06 (10,906 linear feet); Reach-2 from 0+00 to 51+40 (5,140 linear feet); Reach-3 from 0+00 to 116+90.45 (11,690.45 linear feet); and Reach-4 from 0+00 to 18+97.46 (1,897.46 linear feet). Marine access will be provided by barge through flotation channels maintained at -7.0 feet NAVD88 depth with 100-foot width. Construction must remain within designated rights-of-way and construction easements with temporary chain-link fencing required prior to mobilization.
