AMENDMENT 0002
*Questions are numbered sequentially across all amendments
29. Question: Please extend the bid date by a week to allow adequate time following a Federal
Holiday to receive material and subcontractor quotes and prepare the bid package. It is understood that these projects must be awarded by the end of the fiscal year, but previous WSLP projects of smaller scope and magnitude have been extended several weeks past the original bid date.
Response: The bid submission date remains unchanged.
30. Question: How many stop logs are required on this project? Note 4 on Sheet S-108 calls for 6 stop logs to be furnished. The elevation of the stop logs on sheet S-108 shows them to be 3’- 6” tall. However, Amendment 1, “Job Quantities” on page 7 of 14 of the amendment states the requirements for 12 stop logs with a height of 3’-0” tall.
Please confirm the correct number and height of stop logs required on this project.
Response: The plans are correct. There are 6 stoplogs, each 3’-6” tall.
31. Question: Please review the take off quantities for CLIN 0006 Reinforced Concrete
Floodwall. The “Job Quantities” provided in Attachment 1 of Amendment 1 appear incorrect.
Our take off totals Stabilization Slab – 62 CY, Base Slab – 533 CY and T Wall Stems – 502 CY. It appears the Government’s take off is for 6 monoliths but this project has 8 monoliths.
We request corrections be issued to the estimated quantities given.
Response: See attached revised job item quantities.
32. Question: Please review the take off quantities for CLIN 0007 Reinforced Concrete Drainage
Structure. Our take off finds the wing wall base slabs are off by more than 20 CY. Also, there is no mention of any elevated slabs on the drainage structure which is approximately 160 CY.
We request corrections be issued to the estimated quantities given.
Response: See attached revised job item quantities. The quantity for walls includes the elevated slabs (160 CY elevated slabs and 475 CY walls for a total of 635 CY).

33. Question: Please confirm the coating requirements for the steel sheet piling and steel h-piling in the Drainage Structure and its wing walls. There is no mention on these items in the table in section 09 97 02.01 12 Paragraph 3.5.
Response: No paint is required for drainage structure and wing wall h-piles and sheet piles.
34. Question: The steel grating is called out as 3” thick but contract drawing clearly calls this out as 2” grating. Is this a typo?
Response: 2” grating is correct.
35. Question: Aluminum stairs – 1 each is called out, however the only stairway shown on the contract drawings is the galvanized stairway shown on S-609.
Please clarify.
Response: There is only one set of stairs, which is shown on S-609 and S-610. The stairs are to be galvanized.
36. Question: Referencing the ladder quantity shown on S-607. Under the “Interior Access
Detail” it shows (12 required), but the plans only show 8.
Please clarify.
Response: The note on S-607 should read “8 required”.
