RFI # RFI QUESTION RESPONSES

1 Specification Section 00 21 00 1.1 requires contractor to remove and replace the existing headwall for 48-inch culvert. Since there is no 48” culvert shown on the plans, we are assuming that this is related to 60” CMP culvert. Plan sheet C-502 Detail A1 calls for protecting in place the existing concrete headwall. Please clarify if we need to remove and replace the headwall.

Follow Plan Sheet C-502 and protect in place.

Confirmed that 60” CMP culvert is correct.

2 Please provide any geotechnical investigation data available for this project.

This will help us design the suitable dewatering solution for this project.

Nearby geotechnical borings attached. Borings are not part of contract documents.

3 Please extend the bid date by one week.

See amendment 3

4 Please provide a count of timber piles that are required to remove on this project.

Contractors should use 50 piles for estimating purposes

Refer to Specifications (section 01 57 19 para.

3.1.6)

6 Please provide copies of the environmental permits issued for this project. Amendment 4 will provide this information.

7 What is the anticipated completion date for this project? See period of performance in solicitation 8 For the sheet pile diversion structure, please provide the toe elevation that we should assume as no Geotech information is available for this project.

The toe elevation was not surveyed after the flood event. Amendment 4 will provide this information. Diversion structure design is the responsibility of the contractor. Nearby geotechnical borings are provided for the Contractor’s use, but are not part of contract documents.
