SUMMARY OF CHANGES
CORRECTED INQUIRY #1 (By way of Amendment No. 0004, Inquiry #1 should have read as follows):
I am looking for a few clarifications on the above project. Are there any additional requirements for the metering and SPD? We want to ensure we do not miss anything in our submittal.
From the specification Division 26 28 for MCCs. There is not anything written to explain the type of SPD is not identified nor is the metering shown in the drawings. Are there any requirements or is this based on manufacturer preference? Lastly are there any controls required on the starters in the MCC since there was nothing on the drawings to specifically call for anything.
USACE RESPONSE TO CONTRACTOR’S INQUIRY:
The surge protective devices (SPD) shall be sized per the manufacturers recommendations per Key Note 3 on the Drawing E-7. The requirement for the SPD are provided in the Specification Section 26 05 00.00 40 subparagraph 2.2.7.
For metering in the snippet, provide Manufacturers standard Digital Metering Unit (DMU) based on the vendor’s recommendation. The requirements for the metering transformers associated with the DMU are specified in the Specification Section 26 28 00.00 10, subparagraph 2.7.8.1.
Control schematics for the exhaust fan starters are shown on the Drawing E-17. The rest of the loads on the MCC are fed via circuit breaker and do not need starter schematics.
