About this file
This document is an Amendment (No. 0002) to a solicitation for the Tow Haulage Gearbox and Limit Switch Rehabilitation at the Nickajack Auxiliary Lock in Jasper, Tennessee. The base contract requires the contractor to remove the tow haulage high-speed gearbox, replace all seals, gaskets, flexible couplings, bearings, and the limit switch, recoat the interior of the gearbox, and diagnose a high-pitch noise. Removal and installation of the gearbox will be performed by others. Option 1 of the contract includes replacing all shafts and gears.
The amendment adds language allowing the government to request additional work not initially specified, with the contractor required to submit a price schedule and timeline for such work. The solicitation also emphasizes veteran employment, encouraging U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contractors to promote training and employment of U.S. veterans, and provides resources for veteran employment assistance. The contract is identified by Solicitation No. W912P525QA032 and is focused on mechanical rehabilitation of lock and dam equipment.
