About this file
This document is a technical process flowchart depicting procedures for creating and deploying a DNLoader .DAT file containing PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs. The document consists of three integrated workflows: OEM creation of the .DAT file, OEM delivery to customer, and customer deployment to an application PLC.
In the OEM action phase, the operator uses DirectSOFT to create a PLC program, connects to a developer PLC, and downloads the program to it. DNLoader is then used to read the developer PLC, with password verification if applicable. The operator subsequently uses DNLoader to write the file, optionally sets a file password, and configures password match options before storing the PLC program in a .DAT file format. The completed .DAT file and DNLoader tool are then sent to the customer. In the customer action phase, the customer receives the .DAT file and DNLoader, uses DNLoader to read the file contents, and connects to an application PLC that must be in Program mode with the key switch in the "TERM" position. The customer then uses DNLoader to write to the application PLC. The flowchart includes multiple decision points addressing password scenarios: whether the application PLC has an existing password, whether the .DAT file contains a password, whether passwords match, and whether the operator authorizes password changes. The final outcomes result in the application PLC containing the downloaded program with either no password, the original password, or a new password depending on the configuration choices made throughout the process.
