PR 10808117 – CFMO FURNITURE

SITE VISIT Q&A’s

CFMO FURNITURE

Q: For Office 229; is the furniture specified as “freestanding” or “panel-hung”?

A: Panel hung per mfrer requirements.

Q: For Office 229; this area is calling for veneer upper storage and laminate desk; is this correct or do you want both veneer or both items laminate?

A: Upper storage & desk can be laminate or veneer provided they have the same finish.

Q: For Office 231 (conference room)- The Credenza is specified as veneer while the hutch is specified as laminate; are you wanting this combination or both items laminate or both veneer?

A: Credenza & hutch can be laminate or veneer provided they have the same finish.

Q: On the pricing spreadsheet, additional parts are needed for the workstation system to work properly that are not listed, IE panel tiles, connectors, trim, etc. How do these items need to be added & listed on the response? Can we submit pricing in standard GSA quote format?

A: All cube furniture must be provided as complete. The spreadsheet listing is for reference of parts previously purchased. We want a lump sum proposal for complete systems as shown on the drawing and described by the characteristics.

Q. What is the finish and manufacturer of the existing cubicles that you are wanting to match?

A: Herman Miller part numbers are provided. Substitutes will have to provide very detailed sheets to demonstrate equivalency of all components".

Q: Do you anticipate this being a single-award or using multiple dealers?

A: Single

Q: Do you accept substitutes/alternates that meet the requested furniture specs?

A: Bid as described in the bidding documents.

· Specify we are trying to match Herman Miller cube components and existing office desk finishes

Q: Desk Furniture 2A L Shaped desk and return.

Specs call for HPL surfaces and laminate edging. At the meeting it was asked if that was firm since many desk manufactures prefer PVC over a laminate self-edge, which chips and de-laminates very easily.

Spec calls for round metal grommets on the desk side panels. Would you approve Vision by JSI which has square plastic grommets on the side panels.

A: Yes.

Q: 2E & 2F. Would it be ok to propose all veneer for credenza and hutch to go with the veneer table in room 231?

A: Yes, Earlier question for Office 231 stated that credenza and hutch can be laminate or veneer provided they have the same finish.

Q: 2K. Are you requesting boat shaped tables, not bowed conference tables?

A: Bowed.

Q: Is the Small Business designation meant for the dealer or the manufacturer? Could the PO be issued to a furniture manufacturer or only a dealership?

A: The Small Business designation is the company selling the furniture. For more information please click on the link provided: http://www.naics.com/naicswp2014/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/2014-Size_Standards_Table.pdf

Q: 1) "This requirement is being advertised as a 100% small business set-aside..... with a small business size standard of 500 employees". Does this mean all the supplying factories need to be SBE or can the bidding dealer be a SBE, offering product from any type of producer? 2) My confusion is that you have already purchased Herman Miller, was that also a small business set-aside? 3) Was it sold directly to TN ANG from a SBE dealer? 4) Would the dealer need a GSA Contract #?

A: 1) My assumption is that SBE should be Small Business Administration (SBA). No, the subcontractor/supplier does not have a requirement to be Small Business.

2) Yes, the previous furniture was Small Business set-aside.

3) More information is needed.

4) No GSA contract number is required.
