1. What is the existing floor and specs on the hanger floor and thickness?
Answer: Fuel Resinous Flooring, 3 Coat system by Tennent . Mils are about 28-30. Below is specifics and the specification used.
a. Thin Film Flooring system (Eco-MPE/Eco-HPS 100)
• Tensile Strength (ASTM 02370)- 6,250 psi (HPS 100 Product Bulletin [PB]).
• Percent Elongation (ASTM 02370) - 6% (HPS 100 PB).
• Adhesion to Concrete (ASTM 04541) - applies to primer, which is stuck to concrete - >400 psi, concrete failure (MPE PB).
• Thermal Compatibility between Concrete -this seems to be an incomplete statemen tbetween concrete and what? This appears to relate to resurfacer applications where there is concern that the concrete and overlay will expand at different rates, leading to bond issues. 140F will not cause this thin film flooring system to come off the concrete.
• Heat Resistance, continuous exposure- there is no test method or value listed. Standard epoxies start to soften at about 140F; the urethane topcoat would be higher, but the primer is going to limit the ability of the system.
• Chemical Resistance to JP-8 plus 100 Fuel (ASTM 01308) -this test method has procedures listed for immersion and spot testing. We apply chemicals to the fully cured surface and check any effect at 1 and 7 days. These chemicals had no effect on HPS 100
(PB).
• Chemical Resistance to Motor Oils (ASTM 01308) - this test method has procedures listed for immersion and spot testing. We apply chemicals to the fully cured surface and check any effect at 1 and 7 days. These chemicals had no effect on HPS 100 (PB).
• Chemical Resistance to Skydrols (ASTM 01308)- this test method has procedures listed for immersion and spot testing. We apply chemicals to the fully cured surface and check any effect at 1 and 7 days. These chemicals had no effect on HPS 100 (PB).
• Lead- not used in any of Tennant's formulations.
• Cadmium- not used in any of Tennant's formulations.
• Chromium- not used in any of Tennant's formulations.
b. Primer (Eco-MPE)
• Resin System - Product is a 2 part epoxy.
• Percent Solids - 100%.
• Color- Tennant's standard epoxy primers are colored using colorants.
• Hydrolytic Stability- alkali resistant per ASTM 1308.
(memo subject) Page2
• Moisture Insensitivity (ASTM F1869)-We follow the industry standard of 3#/1000 SF/24 hrs for this primer.
• Adhesion to Concrete (ASTM 04541)- >400 psi, concrete failure (MPE PB).
c. Urethane Topcoat (Eco-HPS 100)
• Resin System - HPS 100 is an aliphatic, 2 component system.
• Percent Solids- mixed solids of 91.3% (HPS 100 PB).
• Topcoat Color- HPS 100 can be pigmented light gray.
• Stripe Colors- black, white, red, yellow can be put in most Tennant systems for line marking.
• Hiding Power - Some of these red/orange colors hide better than others - depends on specific color chosen.
• Sunlight Resistance- HPS 100 is 100% aliphatic (light stable).
• Heat Resistance, continuous exposure -there is no test method listed. Standard epoxies start to soften at about 140F; the urethane topcoat would be higher, but the primer is going to limit the ability of the system.
• Heat Resistance, intermittent exposure- there is no test method listed. Standard epoxies start to soften at about 140F; the urethane topcoat would be higher, but the primer is going to limit the ability of the system. Intermittent exposure from spilled fluids that are warm or wash down water that is at 200F is not going to damage this system.
• Chemical Resistance to JP-8 plus 100 Fuel (ASTM 01308) -this test method has procedures listed for immersion and spot testing. We apply chemicals to the fully cured surface and check any effect at 1 and 7 days. These chemicals had no effect on HPS
100(PB).
• Chemical Resistance to Motor Oils (ASTM 01308) -this test method has procedures listed for immersion and spot testing. We apply chemicals to the fully cured surface and check any effect at 1 and 7 days. These chemicals had no effect on HPS 100 (PB).
• Chemical Resistance to Skydrols (ASTM 01308) -this test method has procedures listed for immersion and spot testing. We apply chemicals to the fully cured surface and check any effec~ at 1 and 7 days. These chemicals had no effect on HPS 100 (PB).
2. Do you have lineal ft. of the lines? if not could we revisit the site to get a total?
a. Answer: we do not have the linear feet. Please contact Pat Walsh or Anna Harsch to revisit.
3. Are you open to the manufacturer’s recommendation of shot blasting vs. Planetary Grinding.
a. Answer: Yes
4. Can you forward a copy of the wage determination?
Answer: Wage Determination Number
a. 05-2439, Revision number 18 Date of revision 01/05/2016.
5. Could you provide the project data on the floor that was installed in Sept. 2015
a. Answer: see question one (1)
6. What product did the manufacture recommend for the 219 hanger floor.
a. Answer: From Tennant representative: As Eco CEP-Eco HPS 100 Slip resistance recoat w/sharkgrip. See attached specification.
