About this file

This document is Amendment 0002 to Attachment A, containing technical drawings and specifications for precast concrete components to be delivered to Fort Polk, Louisiana. The amendment provides detailed drawings and construction requirements for four primary concrete products: 6-inch-thick C-Channels, 9-inch-thick tall C-Channels, 9-inch-thick short C-Channels, Floor Isolation Slabs, and Floor Bearing Pads.

The 6-inch-thick C-Channel (Drawing A, 3 sheets) requires concrete with minimum 4,500 psi compression strength at 28 days per ASTM 39, with reinforcement conforming to ASTM 615 Grade 60 rebar. The channel measures approximately 5 inches wide by 7 inches tall with a 6-inch typical thickness. Four lifting points must provide minimum 6,500-pound safe working load in tension. The 9-inch-thick tall C-Channel (Drawing B, 3 sheets) has similar concrete and reinforcement specifications with a total weight of 13,000 pounds and four lifting points rated for minimum 6,500-pound safe working load each. The 9-inch-thick short C-Channel (Drawing E, 5 sheets) specifies concrete compression strength of 4,500 psi (corrected by Amendment 0002 from original 6,000 psi specification) with four lifting points providing 6,000-pound minimum safe working load. The Floor Isolation Slab (Drawing C, 4 sheets) weighs 4,300 pounds, requires 4,500 psi concrete strength, all #4 bar reinforcement per ASTM A615 Grade 60, and four lifting points with 2,200-pound minimum safe working load. The Floor Bearing Pad (Drawing D, 4 sheets) weighs 1,100 pounds with identical concrete and reinforcement specifications, and four lifting points providing 600-pound minimum safe working load. All components require chamfered edges (½-inch recommended), minimum 1-inch clear cover for reinforcement, and lap splices with 32-inch minimum length where permitted.
