About this file

This document appears to be a set of clarification questions and answers for a Crane Services contract for the Engineer Research and Development Center Geospatial Sciences Laboratory (ERDC GSL), solicitation number W912HZ26Q7574. The document addresses three key points: work scheduling, crane staging/parking, and travel distance requirements for potential vendors.

The key details include: (1) Exact crane operation dates and times will be communicated to the contractor at least 2 weeks in advance; (2) Contractors have the flexibility to either mobilize/demobilize daily or stage/park the crane on-site, with no additional security restrictions; and (3) Vendors located more than 2 hours away can still bid, but are limited to charging a maximum of 2 hours of travel time per 10-hour workday, with workers required to be on-site and available to work for a minimum of 8 hours daily. Any additional travel time beyond the 2-hour limit will be at the contractor's own expense.

Yes. The exact date/times for crane operations will be communicated to the contractor a minimum of 2 weeks in advance of each need date.

2. Crane Staging / Parking:

Is the crane required to be mobilized and demobilized each day, or will the Contractor be permitted to stage/park the crane on-site between lift days if the schedule spans multiple days?

If staging on-site is allowed, please confirm any security or access requirements.

No. The contractor has the option to mobilize/demobilize each day, but crane can stage/park on site as desired. There are no additional security or access requirements for leaving the crane on site.

3. Travel Distance:

Are vendors located more than 2 hours travel distance (one-way) from the site still eligible to bid, provided that travel time is within the 2-hour per day maximum allowed in the scope of work?

Yes. Vendors located farther away can still bid, however no more than 2 hours of travel time can be charged against each 10 hour work day. Any additional travel time incurred by the contractor will be at the contractors sole expense, and the workers must be on site and available to work for a minimum of 8 hours each day.
