Q&A for W912HZ25Q0016 Questions Due: 30 April 2025 at 2:00PM CDT
Question 1 Q: I saw that there was an operator on the cantilever gate. Is it getting replaced also, or just the gate?
A: Cantilever gate operator replacement is not within the scope of this contract.
Question 2 Q: Is there a pedestal with the gate and keypad?
A: There is a pedestal with keypad that operates the automated cantilever gate, but these items are not a part of the contract and shall remain in place.
Question 3 Q: What is the brand and current size of the existing operator?
A: The gate operator is a Power Master commercial ¾ HP 115V 1PH. Operator replacement IS NOT a part of this contract.
Question 4 Q: Will there be remotes for the current operator?
A: There are no remotes for the current operator.
Question 5 Q: Can we use temporary fence instead of a security guard to provide overnight security during the weekdays? For weekend security, all fence that was removed will be completely reinstalled prior to leaving site.
A: The contractor may use temporary fencing instead of a security guard to provide overnight security during the weekdays, provided that the temporary fencing provides the same security as the existing fence, i.e. 8’ tall chain link with barbed wire top guard. Of course, footers nor existing post depth penetration would not be necessary for such a temporary fence.
Question 6 Q: Please confirm that 6 strand barbed wire is needed identical to what is currently present.
A: The contract calls for a “Y” top guard with a total of 6 strands of barbed wire identical to what is currently present.
Question 7 Q: Please confirm that nothing is to be salvaged except for the gate operator with keypad. That is to be left alone and reused.
A: It is confirmed that no parts of the fence or gates are to be left alone or reused, except the gate operator and associated parts, including the pedestal and keypad.
Question 8 Q: Will there be a secured laydown area for materials, dumpsters, toilets, and daily parking?
A: Yes
Question 9 Q: Can the bid proposal date be extended to allow time for Contractors to receive and review the answers and adjust pricing?
A: Response time has already been factored into the offer timeline. Offers are due 5 May 2025 at 2:00 PM CDT
Question 10 Q: Will a Bid Bond be required and if so, for what percentage?
A: This requirement is not being processed as true construction, so a Bid Bond is not applicable IAW FAR 28.101-1(a).
Question 11 Q: Will Payment and Performance Bonds be required for the awardee?
A: This requirement is not being processed as true construction, so Payment and Performance Bonds are not applicable IAW FAR 28.102-1(a).
