Question 1: Can you provide a 2-3 extension on the response date?

Answer 1: An extension is not granted.

Question 2: The government’s requirement for the NCIC background checking service are not exactly clear to us. I see the data will reside locally on government servers so will we only be querying the local database for the NCIC background check?

Answer 2: Data will be stored on government servers only, queries will be sent to outside databases for information as specified in the package.

Question 3: It is our assumption you do not have this NCIC database locally so will you need a transactional check when scanning driver’s license check?

Answer 3: We do not have an NCIC database locally (onsite); we will need transactional checks when scanning driver’s licenses. This is automated during the scan.

Question 4: If so please provide the anticipated number of background checks per year because there are significant volume discounts.

Answer 4: Interstate Identification Index (III) ballpark would be 2500. Every individual entering would be person’s files, and could be several hundred thousand.

Question 5: Can you clarify why there is a need for such a lightweight device (16oz) on this solution besides the one free hand for drawing a weapon?

Answer 5: Our requirement for lightweight is to provide ease of use for guards standing at the gates for several hours at a time.
