About this file

This document is a Performance Work Statement (PWS) section outlining requirements for an Eaton UPS battery replacement project. The contractor must perform a complete battery swap for two (2) Eaton PW9390-160 UPS systems, involving the decommissioning and safe removal of eighty (80) existing batteries, EPA-compliant disposal and transportation of spent batteries with required Certificate of Recycling/Disposal documentation, supply and installation of eighty (80) new C&D Technologies UPS12-400MR batteries, and testing and calibration activities including connection cleaning and torquing to manufacturer specifications.

Testing requirements include IEEE 1188 compliant impedance/conductance testing and internal battery testing to verify string integrity, with UPS firmware and parameter updates as necessary to recognize new battery string characteristics. An accompanying Q&A clarification specifies that external load bank discharge testing will be omitted from the SOW, with internal battery testing deemed sufficient to satisfy testing requirements.
