Solicitation W912HQ-21-ACO-0001, HECSA Mackenzie Room Acoustic Upgrade

a. Is the contractor expected to provide the projector as part of the solicitation?

NO

b. if this is existing OFE, could you please provide size make/model details?

N/A

c. Is the contractor expected to provide the electrical wiring or will facilities provide a standard outlet in proximity to the installation? Or is there an existing projector?

This project is to install a projector screen only (according to PWS) electrical source is 110v outlet near projector screen placement.

d. Is the screen expected to be connected to a room control system of some sort, or a simple up/down switch Projector screen shall be able to be control by stand-alone remote.

e. Where Do you require a wall input for the projector, or where do people connect to it? Is there more than 1 location for laptops or other devices?

N/A Please help us with some additional details about the job in order to provide the best value quote to you. Is there any information regarding the current weight supporting the ceiling? Without the ability to know the weight supporting structure of the ceiling, the proposing of the ceiling with the metal and lathe structure would be impossible. The ceiling will probably not support the weight of the proposed contiguous ceiling material specified in the SOW.

Current weight is unknow, ceiling is metal lath with metal Tee and mains. Sound dampening board should hold.

The fasteners that are used to mount to the ceiling may or may not hold into the existing structure. The weight of the acoustic panels may be too heavy for the ceiling structure at this time. It may be necessary to install a grid to some other structure above the ceiling that can support the weight of the acoustic panels.

Contractor shall use manufacture recommendations for material being hung.

Since there is no way to view the structure above the ceiling per the SOW, are there plans that detail the existing ceiling installation that can be viewed?

Drawing are attached in Solicitation. Also picture view of Tee bars and mains.

Can a new grid style ceiling be attached to the superstructure of the building that could support the acoustic panels?

1. Contractors design for ceiling sound dampen board shall be homogenous.

2. Ceiling sound board shall be uniform in nature or character throughout.
