Text version

US Army Corp. of Engineers RFP team for Mackenzie conference room that a modification has been solicited for scope refinement.

· Previously we offered a discrete acoustical panel layout (checkerboard layout of absorption panels as aesthetics and acoustics strategy dictate) to minimize cost.

· Government new scope wants a version of proposal to function as more architecturally integrated. The ceiling should have sufficient carpentry infrastructure to allow a monolithic stretched fabric system to conceal all acoustical treatments. Lights will have to be furred down to flush trim in the fabric plane.

· Carpentry furring ribs and fabric tracks will be installed and maximum seam-to-seam fabric (sufficiently acoustically transparent) will be installed to conceal all acoustical treatments. Color scheme will be optimized to room décor.

· This approach may apply to the rear wall (behind audience) and ceiling parapet as room conditions and aesthetics apply. Brick wall areas will remain untouched.

· This approach will require more artisanal craftsmanship to create the fit and finish desired. The acoustical performance will be just as our previous offering. Materials and labor will adjust to site conditions.

· This CLIN is pre-priced. All offerors will provide this pre-priced amount on their quote. That is, this CLIN will not be used for evaluation purposes. This amount is the GOVT’s estimate of the approximate cost of the adaptations necessary for the ceiling installation.
