1. Is the contractor responsible for removing from service?
The Contractor will be responsible for all labor to disconnect all connections on the installed generators so that they can be removed, as well as, disassembly and either reassembly or weather proofing the container while the generators is absent.
2. The PWS mentions rewind as necessary, in order to quote a rewind, we need to know what needs to be rewound: Stator, Rotor or Exciter? Or is it just reconditioning?
Reconditioning (unless a gross fault is present then repair). Unit 1 is known to require repair one of the poles which is grounded. Units 2 and 3 are assumed to be recondition only.
3. Is the contractor responsible for installing back in the field? If yes, is there an overhead crane available for use?
A crane and operator will be provided to follow the contractor’s guidance to remove and reinstallation all three alternators. The crane and operator are at no cost to the contract.
