Characteristics of Boat Trailer:

Furnish a new aluminum commercial/military grade boat trailer to fit an catamaran hull with a weight of 10,000 lbs. A dual torsion bar axle trailer shall be custom designed to fit this planing catamaran hull. Furnish the dual axle trailer with trailer brakes and industrial rubber mat fenders.

Components shall include, but not be limited to:

Electric over hydraulic disc brakes, heavy duty 316 Stainless Steel Caliper and 304 Stainless Steel Rotor, watertight pressure sealed vault-hub assemblies, galvanized steel torsion bar axles, and all nylon no rust mini hydro brake lines and fittings, including flexible hoses with brass union end fittings at each caliper. Furnish and install 4 industrial rubber mat fenders and two spare tires mounted to the trailer.

Furnish and install a complete seven (7) way wiring harness for all running light fixtures and plug to fit receptacle on the towing vehicle, 2014 Ford F-350; for a complete running light system on the trailer; to include two (2) watertight red LED stop lights, one on the top of each PVC pipe sleeve mounted on either side at the rear of the trailer. Wiring shall be run with zero splices from the tow connection junction to the lights. All wiring is connected with a mechanically chemically bonded and heat shrunk to seal. Lighting fixtures, locations, etc., shall meet all the requirements of South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and the current NHTSB requirements for motor vehicle/trailer lighting. Secure the new wiring to the trailer structure at no more than 18-inch intervals, and at each fixture connection.

Furnish and install bunks with carpeting on the trailer. All bunks shall be a new, single, solid piece of lumber, not manufactured or composite wood created from several layers of lumber. The bunks shall be installed at an elevation that allows the hull of the vessel to bear zero contact with the trailer fenders, even during vessel movement. The vessel hull shall be in contact with each bunk over the entire length of the bunk. A piece of 3/8-inch thick synthetic material (UHMWPE, or approved equal) shall be installed on top of each bunk, over the entire length of each bunk and on the bow cross member and any location where the vessel may touch the trailer while loading. This synthetic material shall be the only material that comes in contact with the bottom of the vessel when it is on the trailer. All bunks and chocks shall be custom fitted to the hull of the vessel so the combined trailer and vessel height shall meet OTR guides and be under 13’ 6” tall on the trailer.

Furnish and install one (1) new drop leg tongue jack with a vertical crank (not horizontal).

Furnish and install a 3,600 pound (min.) capacity, 2-speed hand winch on the trailer with suitable size Samson Amsteel Blue synthetic rope and a suitable size stainless steel bow hook.

Fabricate side guides to position the boat hulls on the bunks. The side guide rails shall consist of two rails 1 port and 1 starboard spanning the length of the hull. The rails will be fabricated from a new solid single piece of lumber lined with carpet and capped with UHMWPE.

Furnish and install a bow stop that incorporates the bracket for the hand winch. A tongue mounted ladder to access the vessel at the bow shall be provided. Install a carpeted solid wood timber between the bow stop uprights to fit across the vessel’s push knees. Fabricate forward and aft braces on the bow stop as needed for support. Apply non- skid surface tape to ladder steps.

34. Tests and Trials:

Prior to delivery from the builder's facility, the contractor shall complete the following tests and trials.

Operational trials - demonstrate the correct operation of all on board systems and machinery components.

Full Load Speed trials - demonstrate the vessel top speed.

Noise Survey - demonstrate that the vessel meets the required noise limits.

Trailering - demonstrate launching from trailer into the water, and hauling from the water onto the trailer.

Shore power - demonstrate operation of AC electrical components on shorepower.

35. Documentation:

The following electronic documents shall be provided by the builder, for the purpose of operating and maintaining the vessel:

Arrangement drawings, hull line drawings, hull structural drawings, hull hydrostatics in salt water table drawing (labeling plate thickness and structural member sizes).

AC and DC electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Fuel line schematics.

Trailer VIN.

Equipment Operating manuals.

Trial Reports.
