Site Visit Q&A
May 23, 2019
1. Q: Will USACE monitor the water level of the weirs in the disposal area?
A: Yes, the Government does monitor the weirs, however the Government will expect the awardee to maintain the water level in the weirs by adding or removing boards as needed.
2. Q: Will the Government perform the water quality testing in the disposal area(s)?
A: Yes
3. Q: Will someone from USACE be on site and/or available 24/7 to advise the awardee on the release of water through the weirs?
A: The Government QA Inspector will monitor the weirs daily.
4. Q: Does the bird island in the 13A disposal area have to stay dry at all times?
A: Yes, the bird island elevation is equal to the elevation of a water level inside the disposal area -3.0’ below the top of the existing dike. If the water elevation inside the disposal area reaches -3.0’ below the existing dike the required amount of bird island will still be dry.
5. Q: What is the completion date for the rock work at Kings Island turning basin?
A: The Government will not direct the awardee on the order of completion for the different elements of this contract, however it will need to be completed by the end of the period of performance stated in the contract.
6. Q: Can you deliver materials by barge on the ramp near the lower dissolved oxygen system?
A: Yes, however any materials delivered to any of the landings identified in the plans and specs will be required to be moved immediately to the appropriate identified staging area while still sharing the landings with other contractors.
