SECTION SF 30 BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

The following have been added by full text:

BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

1. Revise FAR Clause 52.211-10

2. Respond to Questions

3. Revise drawing numbers 18-20 and 38-40, Note 4 as follows:

NOTE 4:”Undamaged portions of existing HDPE pipe may be reused upon inspection and approval of the cor. For purposes of bidding, bidders shall assume that 60% of required pipe length can be supplied by reusing existing undamaged HDPE pipe, and that 40% of required pipe length shall be new pipe. Unused portions of existing HDPE pipe (whether damaged or not) shall be removed and stored on-site at a location to be determined by the COR. “

QUESTION

Question #1

The plans say that the 30 inch HDPE spillway pipe for the spillways in the Highway Cell and South Cell can be reused if the pipe is not damaged. The problem with this is the Dike and Berms must be built to specs before the spillways can be removed from the spoil area. That means the pipping will not be inspected until towards the end of the contract, so we would not know if the spillway pipe can be reused until then. In our experience, it takes from 2- 4 months to order and receive the HDPE pipe for a contract job. With not enough time at the end of the contract to inspect the current HDPE pipe and then order the total footage that you need to replace the damaged pipe, will we need to bid line item 4 for spillways on the proposal to install all new pipping and spillway boxes?

Answer:

Yes, use line item 4 with the assumption that 60% of required pipe length can be supplied by reusing existing undamaged HDPE pipe, and that 40% of required piped length shall be new.

Question #2

The web site listing on the Clouter Creek Highway and South Cell Construction Repair states that there are 12 spillways to be installed, but the plans on the Highway and South Cell shows only 10 spillways to be installed.

Which is the correct number of spillways to be installed?

Answer:

Ten (10) spillways to be installed.

Question #3

W912HN-10-R-0050

During the drainage contract on the Highway and South Cells at Clouter Creek from May 2009 to January 2010, it was found through the experience of Corey Enterprises, Inc, that these Disposal Areas are not as dry as the average disposal area should be to begin a diking contract. The material on Clouter Creek South and Highway cells takes more methods and time to dry to the point to be acceptable material used for diking.

It is possible to have either the South or Highway Cell completed and ready to use within that 365 days and the other cell being worked on and completed on a later date?

Answer: Yes, see revise Clause 52.211-10

SECTION 00700 - CONTRACT CLAUSES

The following have been deleted:

52.211-10 Commencement, Prosecution, and Completion of Work APR 1984

SECTION 00800 - SPECIAL CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS

The following have been modified:

52.211-10 COMMENCEMENT, PROSECUTION, AND COMPLETION OF WORK (APR 1984)

The Contractor shall be required to (a) commence work under this contract within 14 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the notice to proceed, (b) prosecute the work diligently, and (c) complete the entire work ready for use, for the South Cell, not later than 365 calendar days and Highway Cell, not later than 455 calendar days after receipt of NTP. The time stated for completion shall include final cleanup of the premises.
