Question

How long will questions be entertained?

Answer

Questions will not be answered past Wednesday, 12 May 2010.

Question

Looking over the documents, it says the schedule can be prepared in either MS Project or Primavera. Primavera owns SureTrak so I interpret ST as approved. It doesn't say "P3" just Primavera. Primavera's P3 looks and works like SureTrak though. (Actually Oracle bought Primavera and with it SureTrak.) Just wanted to see if SureTrak Primavera is acceptable.

Answer

Our current version of Primavera (P2) is not compatible with the SureTrak Primavera. It has been decided that schedules be submitted in MS Project format; MS Project is available to be loaded on any computer where it's required.

Also, for this project, the VAMC Dublin will be managing the contractor. Per discussion with the VAMC Dublin Facilities staff, they do not need any specific software support for the working project schedule. For their purposes, the contractor only needs to submit a .pdf (Adobe Acrobat) version of the schedule that the VA will review to assess project tasks, milestones, and progress. The schedule format that the contractor selects to use should clearly define these items. For our purposes, we only need a copy of the same schedule to confirm the VA's validation of progress against the monthly pay requests.

Question How will we be working next to the GC on the renovation job currently underway? Will we have "free reign" in the attic and other areas to work as we need to, or will the GC be there next to us, performing his own work?

The proximity of the other contractors/subcontractors will have a profound effect on how efficiently we can carry out the work to be performed, thus affecting our proposal price, performance schedule, and completion date.

Answer

The successful proposer/contractor will be required to coordinate demolition and construction activities with a General Contractor (GC) who has previously been awarded a construction contract to perform architectural, electrical, plumbing and equipment demolition and installation work on the second floor of Building 19. The contract performance periods are substantially the same. The successful proposer/contractor will share the second floor of Building 19 with the GC mentioned above. The VA COTR will assist in coordination activities between the two GC's as required to maintain utility services to the occupied First Floor (a 28 bed Nursing Home Unit) and integration of systems and construction for a complete and serviceable project at completion. The attic space will be turned over to the successful proposer/contractor. It is expected that if the renovation GC needs access to the attic, it will be coordinated and provided.
