Question and Answer Set #1: W912GY-18-R-0007
1. For the new electrical panel is there a preferred manufacturer?
See SOW PR. NO. 351-16-04338 (RPR Electric @ SIAD) para 1.6 which states Square D or equivalent.
2. Please provide the exact length of the new electrical feeders.
Exact length of electrical feeders cannot be provided as it is contractor preference as far as where conduit is installed in the warehouse. Max warehouse height to bottom of rafter in middle of warehouse is 22’6”. Warehouse dimension is 500’ x 180’. See scale on drawings 1”=40’
3. On drawing 16-04537 Con Elec improvements sheet 1 of 1 a receptacle symbol is shown on the north wall facing the interior of the building. Is this outlet part of this scope of work?
The receptacle symbol that is shown on the north wall facing the interior of the building is NOT a part of the scope of work.
4. On drawing 16-04537 Con Elec improvements sheet 1 of 1 a receptacle symbol is shown on the east wall facing the interior of the building. Is this outlet part of this scope of work?
The receptacle symbol that is shown on the north wall facing the interior of the building is NOT a part of the scope of work.
5. Please clarify that the electrical panel called out on drawing 16-04537 1 of 1 is 225 amps not 255 amps.
The electrical panel called out on drawing 16-04537 is 225A. Not 255A.
6. Please confirm that the temporary office container will be cord connected and provide the amperage of the pin and sleeve receptacle currently install on the container.
The mobile office containers are to be connected to power with either Liquid Tight Metallic Flex Conduit or Cord of acceptable type rating per the NEC. The pin and sleeve receptacle currently installed on the container is a Hubbell BB60N Type 4 - 5 pin connector. The main breaker size of the electrical panel on the container is 100A 2P.
7. During the site visit I observed that the existing light fixtures have been wired using M/C cable. Are we allowed to use M/C cable to wire the new fixtures covered in this scope of work?
M/C cable is acceptable as long as it is installed IAW NEC Article 330.
8. Will the lift tables be cord connected or will they need to be connect with flexible conduit?
Flex conduit from the 3Ø switch to the lift table.
9. The 400amp MDP replacement in the SOW states 8 three pole 225 amp breakers but the drawing shows a 400amp main, two 150amp breakers and four unused spaces.
As stated in 1.10, the contractor shall connect to 1 of the spare 150a/480v existing breakers in the MDP.
10. The SOW states that all conductors are to service a 3% voltage drop. It states that the 480vac sub is to be feed with 2/0 in a 2 1/2 emt conduit. 1/0 mcm in 2" meets the NEC at 370" Correct. The government is telling the contractor to use minimum 2/0 THHN wire and 2.5” EMT. The government is paying for the oversized wire and conduit.
11. Just to clarify, the new 225 amp 208/120 vac panel board is approximately 450' from the new MDP.
208 3 phase at 450' could be fed with double 250mcm in 3" emt.
How each contractor chooses to provide power to the subpanel is at their discretion as long as the installation complies with the NEC.
