Vendor submitted questions and answers:
Q - In section 33 40 00 paragraph 3.4, it states that the low flow pipe needs to be cleaned prior to televising. This is the only place that states anything about televising the pipe, is televising required?
A - Televising of the low flow pipe will not be required. This is clarified in this amendment.
Q - Please indicate on the plans where unsuitable material is to be disposed of the specifications only list topsoil waste.
A - Unsatisfactory materials or materials believed to be unsuitable for proceeding with the work will be handled in accordance with Contract Clause 52.236-2, Differing Site Conditions.
Q - Is there a specified min/max width between king piles in the HZ wall system?
A - The maximum spacing between king piles is shown on the plans on sheet S-501, detail A6.
Q - In 31 00 00.00 it states the excess excavation, Topsoil, and unsatisfactory material is to be placed in stockpiles.
Where in the plans are these stockpile locations? Is it assumed that all excavated material that is not used as embankment is to be wasted in these areas?
A - The Stockpile Area is shown on sheet CS102. Not all excess excavated material can be disposed of in the Stockpile Area. See paragraph 3.5, Disposal Areas, in Section 01 14 00.00 13, Work Restrictions, for specifications on the disposal of material in the stockpile area. Unsatisfactory material encountered will be handled in accordance with Contract Clause 52.236-2, Differing Site Conditions.
Q - Is the stripping of the topsoil in the stockpile areas to be paid under the Topsoil Item or is it incidental to the excavation?
A - Stripping of the topsoil in the stockpile area shown is not required. This is clarified in this amendment.
