1. Is it possible to walk these sites? Will a site visit be granted?
Response: In most cases, yes. Most sites are open to the public, unrestricted. A few sites such as Julian Keen Lock, Port Mayaca Lock, and Cape Canaveral Lock have secured compounds. However, they are visible from the entrance gate. Also, all sites are visible on Google Earth.
Response: Site visit is scheduled for Thursday February 20, 2025 at 1000 AM EST-1:00 PM EST. Location: South Florida Operations Office 525 Ridgelawn Rd, Clewiston, FL. 33440.
Visit sites will include SFOO, followed by trip to one of our structures and concluding with a campground visit. POC’s: DeeDee Pope 863-599-8215 & Mark Waller 904-944-1616.
2. Are there any recurring pest or pest of concern? What pest do you typically have?
Response: No pests of specific concerns, just natural occurring pest from South Florida, such as, ants, roaches, spiders, rodents, termites, wasps/other stinging insects, etc.
Occasional building infestations of mosquitos and spiders.
3. Has the facilities ever been treated?
Response: Yes, all facilities are on a current pesticide service contract.
4. Just to confirm the contractor is required to provide monthly services, as well as needed services?
Response: Correct. Although, as-needed incidents are typically very minimal, as we try to monitor and coordinate with each location for any issues prior to the scheduled visit and relay to technician.
5. Are there any specific timing needs for treatment? For example, do you require pest control to be performed after hours, or are there certain days and times that work best for you?
Response: During normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 7 – 430, as listed in
PWS.
6. Are any areas restricted and need special requirements/ specific scheduling to gain access?
Response: Julian Keen Lock, Port Mayaca Lock, and Canaveral Lock will need access/coordination with onsite lock personnel during business hours. All other sites are accessible.
7. What are your expectations for ongoing pest management and prevention?
Response: Provide monthly pesticide services to maintain optimum control of pests.
8. Do you expect regular inspections or preventive treatments in addition to the main pest control service?
Response: No, additional inspections or treatments are not expected but could be necessary on a case-by-case basis.
9. Incumbent Contractor: Could you confirm if there is a current incumbent for this contract? If so, could you provide the Purchase Order number and the total contract value?
Response: Contract Number: W912EP20C0002. Base plus 4 Options totaling $320,700.00.
10. Will there be any changes to the requirements compared to the previous contract, or will they remain the same?
Response: No changes to the requirements.
11. Would you like the ant bait to be applied once a year or per month? Can you provide the acreage?
Response: Ant bait to office areas when requested. Last year, bait was requested on 4 occasions: 2x at the main office area at SF-1 building & 2x at SF-34 visitor center at WP Franklin South. Monthly fire ant coverage to all public locations: campgrounds and visitor center grounds, lock and dam facility and surrounding grounds, and administrative buildings and grounds. Areas, including square footage, listed in solicitation.
