About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal solicitation W912EK26QA019 issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for the demolition and asbestos abatement of two cottage structures: Cassville Cottage in Wisconsin and Clinton County Cottage in Iowa.

The document addresses contractor inquiries regarding site specifications, structural measurements, hazardous materials assessment, and project scope. Key details include: Cassville Cottage is approximately 1,350 square feet with a 2,350 square foot driveway and basement; Clinton Cottage is approximately 1,450 square feet. USACE has provided inspection reports in Amendment 0001 containing asbestos survey information and interior photographs for Cassville. The contractor is responsible for verifying exact square footage and site conditions. USACE has no architectural plans, property boundary surveys, or elevation drawings available. At Cassville, all utilities are disconnected and the water well and septic tank have been previously abandoned with documentation in the inspection report. At Clinton, electrical power has been removed. Site restoration requires backfill with lime or sand graded to surrounding elevations with no depressions and no seeding requirement. USACE assumes no knowledge of hazardous materials beyond those identified in the abatement report, making contractor site visits the responsibility for identifying any additional environmental concerns.
