TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

DWORSHAK POWERHOUSE

BRIDGE CRANE REMOTE CONTROL

1.0 INTENT

The following specifications pertain to the purchase of Magnetek XLTX bridge crane radio remote system packages for the Dworshak Project.

The Dworshak powerhouse bridge crane has two parts (North and South bridge cranes) that must be linked in tandem, with an operator in the cab and physically linked/festooned, for large lifts. This crane is used for overhauling large equipment and is considered a critical asset to the function of Dworshak dam. Under the existing conditions, the powerhouse bridge cranes (North and South – when not in tandem) are operated with an older Magnetek remote controlled system that has a safety issue when nearby radios transmit, causing mis-operation of the crane controls which cause the auxiliary hoist to move.

The intent of this specification is to replace the existing North and South bridge crane remote controls with a newer and safer like-kind bridge crane radio remote control system. The remote controls shall be simple to operate with fail-safe features in place in the event of equipment malfunction and will not have interference from nearby radio operation.

2.0 SCOPE

The successful bidder shall be required to deliver the Magnetek XLTX complete radio system package to the Dworshak Dam by the date shown in Section “Shipment and Delivery”. At the time of delivery, documentation shall be provided with the equipment and the other items as stated in this specification.
