PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1 CADD REQUIREMENTS

The electronic CADD files produced under this task order are the deliverables; the printed drawings are thus considered copies of the electronic files. Therefore, precision data input in CADD files is paramount. All precision ancillary data shall be entered as accurately as possible. Area boundaries shall be entered as shapes, as opposed to lines or line strings that only represent shapes. Linear features shall be single line strings as opposed to separate lines. Lines must be drawn to scale, not arbitrarily dimensioned with disassociated text. All data entry shall be in strict compliance with the applicable CADD standards.

Duplicate lines/elements, where duplication serves no purpose, must be removed. Line intersections shall meet with precise connections. Element and reference file placement shall be made with pinpoint accuracy. Files shall be compressed when the drawing is submitted for review or as a final submittal. All clutter and superfluous information outside of the border trim lines shall be removed from the sheet files. Files shall be saved such that when opened, they will be centered on the intended object with the appropriate levels turned on and suitable for plotting. The Contractor will use the electronic CADD design files for reviews and contract documents. The use of the electronic CADD design files by the Contractor for construction and other purposes requires quality CADD workmanship, poor workmanship is unacceptable. All CADD files shall be provided in AutoCad format, version 2010 or newer. The A-E shall ensure compliance with the U.S. National CAD Standards - V5 (NCS).

SECTION 01 33 16.00 10 Page 12

2.2 DESIGN DOCUMENTATION

Assemble design analysis in a single volume with a table of contents if possible. Include a cover page in the basis of design for each discipline indicating the project title and locations, contract number, table of contents, and tabbed separations or bookmarks for quick reference. At a minimum tab or bookmark for each discipline. Place the signature and seal of the designer of record responsible for the work on the cover page of the calculations for the respective design discipline.

2.3 DESIGN DRAWINGS

The drawings shall be produced for full size sheets of 22 inch by 34 inch (half size 11 inch by 17 inch) meeting the CADD standards above. Drawings shall clearly describe the scope of the contract for all required submittals.

2.3.1 Electronic Drawing Files

Provide electronic drawing files in PDF format for each project drawing in the design set for each submittal including the final submittal. CADD files shall be provided for the final submittal in addition to the PDF files.

2.3.2 Drawing Organization

Provide an index of drawings sheet as part of the drawing set, and an electronic table of all drawings submitted. Include the electronic file name, the sheet reference number, the sheet number, and the sheet title containing the data for each drawing. The drawings shall be organized in a clear format by discipline and shall completely describe the contract requirements.

2.3.3 Seal on Documents

For the final submittal, sign, date and seal all Contractor-originated design drawings by the registered architect or the registered engineer of the respective discipline. This is the seal of the Designer of Record for that drawing. Application of the electronic seal and signature accepts responsibility for the work shown thereon.

2.4 SPECIFICATIONS

Provide a Contractor-originated design specification that, in conjunction with the drawings, demonstrates compliance with materials, equipment, execution, and field quality control requirements of the RFP and accepted proposal.

2.4.1 Specifications Format

Utilize the Unified Facility Guide Specifications (UFGS) current at the time of Contract award. Process the specifications with the SpecsIntact software package.

a. Edit and expand the appropriate specifications to ensure that all project design requirements, current code requirements, and regulatory requirements are met. Design specifications may be prepared that include manufacturer specific data and catalog cuts in lieu of non-proprietary, descriptive specifications. Clearly identify, where

SECTION 01 33 16.00 10 Page 13 appropriate, specific products chosen to meet the contract requirements (i.e., manufacturers' brand names and model numbers or similar product information).

b. Note that the UFGS are based on design-bid-build contracting and will require editing to apply to a design-build project. For instance, they assume that the Government will approve most submittals, whereas in design-build, the DOR has that action, unless this solicitation requires Government approval for specific submittals.

c. Organize project sections not based on UFGS in accordance with CSI MasterFormat and UFC 1-300-02 .

2.4.2 Identification of Manufacturer's Product Data Used as Specifications.

Provide complete and legible catalog cut sheets, product data, installation instructions, operation and maintenance instructions, warranty, and certifications for products and equipment for which final material and equipment choices have been made. Indicate, by prominent notation, each product that is being submitted including optional manufacturer's features, and indicate where the product data shows compliance with the Contract requirements.

2.4.3 Specifications Packaging

Provide specifications to include the following:

a. Cover sheet and project table of contents.

b. Specification sections, each section with a table of contents.

c. Manufacturer's Product Data. If providing as attachments to the applicable specification section, incorporate as attachment reference within the section and section table of contents.

2.4.4 Specification Deliverable

Submit a bundled specification package in PDF format for each design package. As a minimum, bookmark each specification section in the bundled package. Also, submit the source files, in the processing system format, used to create the PDF.
