The Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting proposals to move facilities from its Huntsville Center located at 475 Quality Circle to Redstone Arsenal Building RG300. The move will occur in two phases, with the first phase involving the relocation of materials stored at a Bradford warehouse including approximately 150 shelving units and ancillary furniture on 80 pallets. The second phase will include moving miscellaneous office equipment, items and files palletized in 150 storage containers from the Huntsville Center as well as 20 conference tables. Proposals are due by 8:00 AM Central Time on December 4, 2023 and are to be submitted electronically. The amendment provides the government's responses to contractor questions, clarifying details such as the scope of materials and availability of equipment. The selected contractor will be responsible for loading, transporting and unloading all materials between the specified dates and locations using their own equipment.

Answer: No, however they do not need to be disassembled to move.
2 PHASE 1- How many boxes do you estimate being on each of the 80 pallets?
Answer: There will not be 80 pallets probably closer to 40 and they will be no more than 5 feet tall 3 Phase 1- What is the scope of the "ancillary furniture"?
Answer: The items were shown during the site visit. They are miscellaneous items that are small in size and number.
4 Phase 2-What items will be in the 150 palletized storage containers?
Answer: Miscellaneous office equipment, items, and files.
5 Phase 2- Will the 50-75 pallets have anything on them or are those leftover pallets?
Answer: These are leftover pallets
Phase 2- What type of tables are being referred to as the "20 tables" in the various sections (last line of phase 2)?
Answer: Conference tables 6' long
7 Will the customer provide a fork lift for loading and unloading of material that is being moved?
Answer: No. The contractor must provide its own equipment.
8 Is the site visit mandatory?
Answer: No 9 Is any building prep required? (Cardboard on floors, wall protection, etc.)
Answer: No however contractor must ensure the wheels on any equipment used (pallet jack) roll freely and do not drag.
10 Is the loading lift (shown in attachment 3) at the 475 Quality Circle location available for use?
Answer: No, contractors will have to have a way to get the items being moved from the ground level into their moving truck.
11 Is the contractor required to move the recycle bins and tread mill from the 5021 Bradford location?
Answer: No.
12 What are the hours of operation to move from either location to RG 300?
Answer: 0800-1500 daily except weekends and federally observed holidays (15 Jan 2024) 13 Can items being moved be stored in a moving truck overnight?
Answer: Not desirable however it is allowed except for a small number of 4ft x4ft x 4ft (tri-wall) palletized storage containers from the Bradford location. Gov personnel will direct these containers to be taken directly to RG 300.
In the event of non-performance of an awarded contract will a second proposal be required from contractors?
Answer: No if the awarded contract is terminated for non-performance, the Government will proceed to the contractor next in line for award.
15 If the contractor finishes Phase I ahead of the schedule, is it allowable to begin Phase II early?
Answer: Yes 16 Can a moving truck be left at the Government's location overnight?
Answer: If required, a moving truck may be left at the 475 Quality Circle location overnight. This location has 24 hour security.
If moving supplies are required as discussed in section 4 of the PWS, does the Government prefer cardboard boxes or totes?
Answer: All items should already be packed up, however in the event moving supplies are needed, cardboard boxes are preferred.
18 Will pallets be needed?
Answer: No, pallets should not be needed.
What kind (size more importantly) are shelving units? Are these really shelving units or is this warehouse racking that needs to be disassembled/reassembled?
Answer: These are shelving units that do not need to be disassembly/reassembly.
20 Background checked employees or is US ID ok (Tennessee ID)
Answer: US ID is acceptable.
Are we removing any materials at the end for disposal or do speedpacks (triwall boxes) and pallets all stay.
Answer: All materials stay.
Approximate weight of the 4x4x4 triwall containers full? Trying to get a sense for if we need a forklift or if pallet jacks will suffice.
Answer: Weight will vary in each, however all were moved into place with a pallet jack.
As far as materials, will moving boxes be needed to be provided from the contractor? If so, What size moving boxes? What size moving boxes?
Answer: It is unlikely that any boxes will need to be provided. If required, the contractor will determine size and number needed and will be reimbursed for the cost of the boxes.
