QUOTER QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Project Number 16ANS01B Miscellaneous Furniture, Artwork, and Equipment US Army Health Clinic USAG Ansbach, Germany

1. Will the Government provide either the name of the company that assembled the artwork package, or the sources/vendors if images were selected by a USACE designer?

ANSWER: The artwork package was assembled by an AE under a separate contract. Artline was the basis of design. If images are unavailable, the quoter may propose similar images based on the information contained on the Artwork Illustration Sheets.

2. The phlebotomy chair shown on the cut sheet (ML 15935) is not compatible with the leg extensions listed (ML 5487). We have pricing for the chair that is compatible with those leg extensions (ML 10667) however, the chair with the leg extensions does not come in the gunmetal color requested. So we need to know which chair to specify based on whether they would like the leg extensions and choosing a different color or if they want to go with that color and use the other chair originally listed (without leg extensions).

ANSWER: Specification is now required to be ML10667 with leg extensions ML5487. Upholstery selection: Blue Ridge.

3. The other question is about the Krug conference table. The cut sheet notes wire management but we need to know if power and data is required.

ANSWER: Power/data modules are not required.

4. Is pricing open market or GSA? If GSA pricing, will a LOA be issued to the awardee?

ANSWER: Open Market

ANSWER: Steel construction

6. Ma’am can you please advise if a field verification/initial work plan is required as a separate trip prior to the installation of the ff&e. Typically in previous contracts a trip was scheduled after award to go to the site and see the logistics, meet with customer to identify any issues with the design and develop potential solutions.

ANSWER: Field verification/work plan is not required as part of this RFQ.

7. Is the ACOE anticipating a initial site visit after kick off to finalize the design, then another trip for the install? Or should we assume that everything has been verified other than artwork?

ANSWER: There will not be an initial site visit after kick off. Everything has been verified other than artwork. Artwork locations will be provided after award and those locations should be verified prior to installation start. If there is a conflict, work with local POC to identify an alternate location.

8. Our team has reviewed the drawings and sees no artwork located on the drawing. Typically artwork JSN is A6046. That being said, is the plan to locate and install the artwork at the time of installation or is the plan to create an artwork plan showing the artwork on a drawing during a separate site visit? Or is there another drawing showing the proposed artwork locations that I am missing?

ANSWER: Artwork location plan will be provided after award and prior to installation start.

9. Ma’am in the shipping requirements you did not state any requirements for the contractors to utilize US Flag ships to transport the FF&E from the US to Germany. Is this a requirement?

ANSWER: Per Section 6 of the PWS, Shipment must be via contractor scheduled commercial transportation. Shipment will not be provided by the Government.

10. A1030B: Z-Tier Phenolic Lockers. Are these lockers to have a sloped top like the others?

ANSWER: No.

11. A6046.01-106. The dimensions that were given in the CID, are those just the dimensions for the actual print or the overall dimensions of the piece after it is framed?

ANSWER: Image shown.

15. F2010: Step-On Waste Container. The product number on the specifications is for the red finish, ST24EPL, but stainless steel is specified as the finish. What color should the waste basket be, red or stainless steel?

ANSWER: Stainless steel.

16. M8810: Mayo Stand. The model number on the specification is SS8300 however, it is no longer available from the manufacturer and has been replaced with SS8310. The SS8310 model meets the same specifications as the SS8300. Is this acceptable?

ANSWER: Alternates that meet the salient features are acceptable.

17. On Page 13 of 63 / Factor 1 / e)Artwork Submittals and Technical Data, it says we are to provide a physical sample of proposed frame materials for both Behavioral Health and Non-Behavioral Health. Is this section something we do need to provide?

18. Do you know the dimensions of the elevator?

ANSWER: See attached elevator drawings, which shows dimensions in meters.

Rough dimensions for your convenience (does not take in account for trim pieces):

20. Is there an on-site dumpster for our use? If not, are we permitted to have one placed on-site?

ANSWER: Per section 7.2 of the PWS, the Contractor is responsible to provide a sufficient number of onsite dumpsters and haul away as required. These costs shall be reflected in your quote.

21. Item 4.1.3 of the amended Statement of Work, states that “All exterior wood surfaces shall have a manufacturer’s standard finish that is the same as, or a close match to, the finish specified in the CID list. All other colors defined in the CID product list are preliminary recommendations and are not mandatory.” Then in item 4.6, the statement of work states to refer to the artwork specifications and artwork illustration sheets for specific requirements. My first question is: are the finishes that are identified in the artwork specifications preliminary recommendations and fall under the same instruction as item 4.1.3? And secondly, are the behavioral health artwork frames regarded as an exterior wood finish or is the finish that was specified in the artwork specifications simply a preliminary recommendation as well? I want to confirm if the item 4.1.3 affects the artwork.

ANSWER: Non-Behavioral Health Artwork frames shall be brushed aluminum with an off white mat. Behavioral Health Artwork frames shall have a natural maple finish.
