Amendment 0002 Q&A

These questions may have been paraphrased or altered to represent several questions regarding the same subject and/or simply revised to clarify and simplify the question(s).

Questions and answers are issued to the Offerors “for information only” and do not revise the solicitation, plans or specifications.

Q1: For Statement of Work SW-1 (C) please confirm that contractor is responsible for ABS Survey inspection costs as billed out by ABS and that contractor is also responsible for costs associated with any items that ABS may require, i.e., air testing, hose or air box test testing, etc.

Q2: TP 2.10 - For pipe and fittings , are they to be threaded or welded connections.

A2: Threaded Connections

Q3: From Drawing # 15500-M-5 (22-M5), compressed air system, it appears that pipe run between compressor and starting air tank is approximately (23’) of .75” and (6’) of 1.5” pipe totaling ~ 29’. Where is the remaining (11’) per engine room going and is it .75” or 1.5 ‘ pipe.

Q4: Is schedule 80 black seamless pipe acceptable ?

A4: Schedule 80 Black Seamless Pipe is acceptable, as long as it is also meets ASTM A106 “seamless carbon steel for high-temperature service.” And all fittings meet ASTM A105 “seamless forged carbon steel piping components for use in pressure systems at ambient and high-temperature service.”

Q5: TP 1.04 (b)(6) - Please confirm that deckhouse structure is not to be blasted.

A5: Deckhouse structure is not to be blasted

Q6: TP 1.08 - Please provide dimensions of GFE hatch.

A6: The new hatch was fi ed in to a plate and is ready to be installed. The old hatch and plate is to be cropped out and new hatch with plate to be fi ed into the deck. Plate is 5’1”x4’1”

Q7: TP 1.02 – Please confirm Marine Chemist attends vessel at least (2) times, 1x safe for entry or workers and again for areas burning / welding is going to take place.

A7: The Intent is to have all eight (8) compartments gas-freed for entry and for hot work. It is up to the Marine Chemist and the Contractor if that will take multiple trips.
