About this file
This document is an amendment to a previously issued Federal/State Coastal Dredging and Water Quality Certificate (FCD/WQC) for the Maintenance Dredging of the Raritan River to Arthur Kill Cut-Off Federal Navigation Channel. The key details are:
The amendment clarifies that the dewatering conditions noted in the original FCD/WQC, issued on April 4, 2024, are not applicable since the dredged material will be discharged to the Historic Area Remediation Site (HARS) rather than dewatered. All other conditions and requirements of the original FCD/WQC remain in effect. The Corps of Engineers requested this amendment due to the difference in the dredged material disposal method. The related federal contract opportunity is for the maintenance dredging project, which will remove approximately 360,000 cubic yards of silt and clay material from the navigation channel and place it at the HARS site.

Hi Jeff, Hope all is well.
I’m reaching out to bring to your a en on that since the dredged material from the subject project will be placed at the HARS, several FCD/WQC condi ons (Condi on 10, 12, 14 – 17, and maybe more) may not apply. Also, would the use of an environmental bucket be a requirement for this project?
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks, Ken
