About this file

This document contains a cover letter and data package submittal for a federal dredging project. Battelle submitted analytical data from sediment sampling and leachate testing at Flushing Bay and Creek in New York to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The data package includes Excel files with analytical results for all target analytes and four PDF reports from the contract laboratory. It also includes a corrective action report addressing issues identified during laboratory processing. The sampling and analysis addressed upland sediments and synthetic precipitation leachate procedure testing to characterize dredged materials in support of the Flushing Bay and Creek maintenance dredging project.

The related federal contract opportunity notice is for the maintenance dredging of Flushing Bay and Creek by the New York District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The project scope involves removing approximately 150,000 cubic yards of sediment to a depth of -15 feet MLLW plus two feet of overdepth allowance. The dredged materials will be transported via scow and tugboat to a permitted upland placement site. The work must be performed using a mechanical dredge with closed clamshell bucket between September and November 2022. The contract value is estimated between $10-25 million. Bidders must submit all required permits within 35 days of notification of being the apparent low bidder.

With this data deliverable please find the full data package documenting the Flushing Bay Upland chemistry evaluation. The deliverable contains all project files for analysis of upland sediment and

SPLP.

The following files are included with this deliverable:

Also included with the data is the corrective action associated with data exceedances previously discussed. TestAmerica/Eurofins performed all analyses and provided their formal corrective action to address selected issues noted during processing. Battelle has reviewed this documentation and find it complete and technically reasonable.
