About this file

This document provides details for a proposed federal contract opportunity for maintenance dredging services. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, intends to dredge approximately 150,000 cubic yards of material from Flushing Bay and Creek, New York to a depth of -15 feet MLLW plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth. Dredged material consists primarily of sand, silt, and clay. Work must be performed using a mechanical dredge with a closed clamshell environmental bucket due to state permit restrictions. Multiple tugboats and scows will also be required. Dredged material must meet all federal, state, and local regulatory standards for upland placement. Interested parties must provide all required permits within 35 days of notification of being the apparent low bidder. Selected contractor must commence work within 5 days of notice to proceed and maintain a production rate of at least 2,250 cubic yards per day to minimize vessel traffic impacts. Work is estimated to cost between $10-25 million and must occur between September and November 2022.
