QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

1. must include an Adobe pdf catalog of the images (100 minimum) available for selection- although you opened this to fedbid this catalog requirement is proprietary to GSA Vendors and excludes Custom Art Package Vendors from participating.

ANSWER: The requirement for a pdf catalog is not proprietary to GSA vendors. A website link may also be provided as long as there are clear instructions as to which images are being submitted for selection. Bid as advertised.

2. window mat, deckled edge border – why have a window mat covering up deckled edge when floating on back mat? Extra mat unnecessary cost?

ANSWER: Window mat dimension should read - 26" x 32” inside dimension

3. Photograph - 24” x 30” - Window mat - 21 ½” x 27 ½” inside dimension – That is smaller than the photo image of 24X30? Does the mat cover up the deckled border and part of the photo? Why? Why go to the expense of a deckled edge border and cover it up?

ANSWER: Window mat dimension should read - 26" x 32” inside dimension

4. Deckled edge border – 23 ½” x 29 ½” inside dimension -Do you mean outside dimension?

ANSWER: Window mat dimension should read - 26" x 32” inside dimension.

5. Frame color, Matt and edge border colors and textures shall be selected by the Government after contract award from the vendor’s standard stock – what standard stock? What is the time frame for selection after award given requirement for deliver/install?

ANSWER: If contractor does not have standard stock items than selection shall be from a range of materials that is typically employed by the contractor. Selections shall be made within one day after submission for approval.

6. After contract award the Government will select the twenty nine images from the vendors catalog. No less than

100 images must be available to select the subject matter images from – MEDCOM has already selected images – Government will select images again after award? A bid normally requires submitting images as part of specifications? What is the time frame for Government to select after award?

ANSWER: The government will select the images within three working days after award.

7. The Government shall identify the location for mounting the photographs inside of the Ft. Carson Dental Clinic after award. – really? Government will determine after award? Government has already specified locations and it will be done again after award! Bid normally requires this information . . when will Government notify the vendor about the locations?

ANSWER: "The Government shall identify the location for mounting the photographs inside of the Ft. Carson Dental Clinic after award. Mounting locations will be in accessible locations." Bid with the specified location as advertised.

8. Frames shall be constructed from dimensionally stable framing hardwood of beech, eastern hard maple, African mahogany, or obeche. –is it legal to use African mahogany wood in U.S. ?

ANSWER: Bid as advertised. (See the following that specifies many wood types:

https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&tab=core&id=e69fb0a7ee3f2eaa8693af06c472bd84)

9. Finished prints shall be interleaved and stored carefully to prevent scratching before mounting-if this is requirement what material do you want for “interleave”? Will you need to see the prints interleaved before framing?

ANSWER: Bid as advertised. (Jackie and Linda - don’t really care what material the interleaving is. The point was to have a material between the photographs so they don't get scratched. If the contractor scratches them we won't accept them.)

10. Photographic Print Paper- not watercolor paper as requested in art package? Mat finish or glossy photo paper?

ANSWER: "The textured matt surface must be similar to a watercolor paper." Bid as advertised.

11. Prototype – what is time frame to deliver to Government for approval? What photo should be included in prototype? How long between receipt of prototype receipt by Government and approval to print?

ANSWER: Delivery of the prototype to the Government and selection of the photograph is at the Contractors discretion. Prototype shall be approved or rejected within one day after receipt by the Government. The Contractor must meet the contract dates.

1) Does a photographer that is “regionally known”, mean regionally to Colorado or the USA.

ANSWER: Photographer may be regionally known from any location.

2) We have images from Colorado, but not 100. Is it our responsibility for the bidding to represent another photographer as well to accumulate that many images, or are you considering using multiple photographers that might apply?

ANSWER: The bidder must supply a minimum of 100 images to select from.

3) We produce artwork for the ceiling on illuminated light panels for light fixtures, or replace ceiling panels that aren’t illuminated, for dental offices. Could that be a consideration for artwork even though it is not on the solicitation?

ANSWER: Bid as advertised.
