About this file

This document provides details on a two-step sealed bid solicitation by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District for construction services to raise levees and floodwalls along three levee units in the Kansas City area. Interested offerors must first submit a technical proposal by November 24, 2020 to be evaluated for technical acceptability, with only acceptable offerors invited to submit sealed bids in the second step based on final construction drawings and 100% specifications. The estimated value of the construction contract is between $250-500 million. The scope of work includes raising approximately 90,000 feet of levee and floodwall by four to five feet using various methods, along with related features such as gatewell, utility, and railroad modifications. Offerors must demonstrate the ability to obtain bonding and financing for an individual $300 million project. Site visits were held in October 2020 and Jay Denker of the USACE is the point of contact for any questions.
