a. Section 32 92 19 Paragraph No 3.2.2.1 Broadcast and Drop Seeding

Permanent seed Seed must be uniformly broadcast at the rate of 90 pounds pure live seed per acre. Wetland Bottoms seed must be uniformly broadcast at the rate of 8.01 pounds pure live seed per acre, Wetland Side Slopes seed must be uniformly broadcast at the rate of 34.57 pounds pure live seed per acre, and Other Wetland (Haul routes, berms, etc) see must be uniformly broadcast at the rate of 49.85 pounds pure live seed per acre. Use broadcast or drop seeders. Sow one-half the seed in one direction, and sow remainder at right angles to the first sowing. Cover seed uniformly to a maximum depth of

1/4 inch in clay soils and 1/2 inch in sandy soils by means of spike-tooth harrow, cultipacker, raking or other approved devices.

b. Section 32 92 19 Paragraph No 3.2.2.1 Drill Seeding

Permanent seed Seed must be drilled at the rate of 90 pounds pure live seed per acre. Use grass seed drills. Drill seed uniformly to average depth of 1/2 inch.

c. Section 35 41 00 Paragraph No 3.11.3 Intermittent Crown & Embankment Erosion Station 33+50 to 58+80 and Breach &

Landside Scour Fill Station 58+80 to 60+60

At station 33+50 to 58+80 the contractor shall repair/restore the levee embankment to same cross section as undamaged sections within repair reach per COR direction (approx. 10' crown with 1' vertical on 3' horizontal slopes). (300 CY Fill &

2.6 AC Seeding/Mulching)

At station 58+80 to 60+60 the contractor shall repair/restore the levee embankment within breach repair reach to same cross section as undamaged end sections per COR direction (approx. 10' crown with 1' vertical on 3' horizontal slopes). In addition, the contractor shall fill all associated landside scour at breach area to the surrounding natural ground contours. The height of levee embankment within the breach repair shall be increased by 5% tapering to no increase in height at the toe of the embankment. The 5% height requirement cannot be exceeded by greater than two tenths of a foot (0.20'). The contractor will be required to degrade embankment height should this limitation be exceeded, at no cost to the government. (1,900 CY

Fill & 0.2 AC Seeding/Mulching levee embankment only)

Borrow for repairs is cross-hatched area generally positioned and is as shown on Site Map B-2. Some minor clearing/grubbing of timber less-than-3-inches at diameter breast height (DBH), and removal of heavy herbaceous vegetation within borrow area is to be expected. Standing timber larger than 3" DBH is to be avoided. Borrow area perimeter side slopes should not be steeper than 1' vertical on 10' horizontal and should have variability with areas of lower slope. Borrow surface to be left in a rough finish grade, with depth variations, with a maximum depth of 2-feet. At conclusion of borrowing activities, if locations within borrow area contain an exposed sand layer which would prevent hydrology retention for wetland establishment, the area(s) shall be lined using suitable clay material. No borrow shall be obtained within 250-feet of the landside levee toe line of the existing levee, or within 100-feet of COE mitigation land boundary line. Contractor to utilize borrow route as shown on Site Map B-2, or other haul route as approved by COR. Upon completion of borrow activity the contractor shall seed and mulch all disturbed areas within borrow area limits with wetland seed mixture. The bottom flats of borrow areas shall be seeded with Wetland Bottom seed mixture. All side slopes of borrow area shall be seeded with Wetland Side Slopes seed mixture. All other disturbed areas of borrow area shall be seeded with Other Wetland seed mixture.

a. Section 35 41 00 Paragraph No 3.11.4 Intermittent Crown & Embankment Erosion Station 69+20 to 101+95

The contractor shall repair/restore the levee embankment to same cross section as undamaged sections within repair reach per COR direction (approx. 10' crown with 1' vertical on 3' horizontal slopes). (400 CY Fill & 4.1 AC Seeding/Mulching)

Borrow for repairs shall be obtained from borrow area 1 and is cross-hatched area generally positioned as shown on Site

Map B-3.

Borrow surface to be left in a rough finish grade, with depth variations, with a maximum depth of 1-foot. At conclusion of borrowing activities, if locations within borrow area contain an exposed sand layer which would prevent hydrology retention for wetland establishment, the area(s) shall be lined using suitable clay material. No borrow shall be obtained within 250-feet of the landside levee toe line of the existing levee or within100-feet of COE mitigation land boundary line.

All other disturbed areas of borrow area shall be seeded with Other

Wetland seed mixture.

b. Section 35 41 00 Paragraph No 3.11.5 Breach & Landside Scour Fill Station 101+95 to 103+80

The contractor shall repair/restore the levee embankment within breach repair reach to same cross section as undamaged end sections per COR direction (approx. 10' crown with 1' vertical on 3' horizontal slopes). In addition, the contractor shall fill all associated landside scour at breach area to the surrounding natural ground contours. See Drawing C-1. (9,700 CY

Fill & 0.3 AC Seeding/Mulching levee embankment only)

Random borrow for breach/landside scour fill repair shall be obtained from borrow area 3 and is cross-hatched area generally positioned as shown on Site Map B-3, COR to identify/flag limits. Borrow consists of sand deposition materials

(6" to 30" in depth), and shall not be removed below the surrounding agricultural lands found at perimeter limits of designated borrow area and removed so as to not retain/pond water. See Drawing C-1 for levee random fill zone.

Impervious borrow for repairs shall be obtained from borrow area 2 and is cross-hatched area generally positioned as shown on Site Map B-3.

Borrow surface to be left in a rough finish grade, with depth variations, with a maximum depth of 3-feet. No borrow shall be obtained within 250-feet of the landside levee toe line of the existing levee. Upon completion of borrow activity the contractor shall seed all disturbed areas within borrow area limits with wetland seed mixture. The bottom flats of borrow areas shall be seeded with Wetland Bottom seed mixture. All side slopes of borrow area shall be seeded with

Wetland Side Slopes seed mixture. All other disturbed areas of borrow area shall be seeded with Other Wetland seed mixture.
