Load Crane Test Q&A

1. Are you able to provide any pictures of the Hydraulic Davit Allied D-5700 CT crane and rescue boat sling?

(please see attached pictures) (I have also attached the TM for the crane for any further pictures/drawings as well as information)

1. Are you able to provide additional identifying information for the rescue boat sling? (Allied Systems can't seem to find the one installed in their records.)

1. Are there any head room constraints where the crane is located?

The Crane is located on the stern deck with no head room constraints.

1. Are there any horizontal restrictions where the crane is located?

The only restrictions on the crane’s location is the edge of the boat. The crane is located on the stern of the ship and is near the starboard edge of the boat.

1. What is the WLL (Working Load Limit) of both the Hydraulic Davit Allied D-5700 CT crane and rescue boat sling?

Crane: 11400 lb Sling: 5,400 lb

1. Is there a water source on the ship we can use when conducting the load test?

There is plenty of water nearby. Additionally, there is a freshwater hose 5 feet from the crane.

1. What capacity load test do you need?

a. The load test should be done IAW ASME B30.16.

2. Is the existing crane inoperable?

a. The crane is operable, there just needs to be the load test

4. For the 5 yr. load Test, what does that mean exactly? Annually load test (1) every year, for 5 years?

a. 1 test every 5 years

6. Do you have a copy of a previous inspection report?

a. Please see attached copy of previous Load Test conducted on the LSV-7's Davit crane.
