About this file
This document is a Question and Answer sheet related to a solicitation for the repair of the bow ramp on an Army Logistics Support Vessel (LSV)-7 watercraft. The key details are:
The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and services necessary to perform a thorough underwater cleaning, lifting and securing to a barge, perform a technical inspection, and repair the bow ramp. The cleaning and repair work must ensure the ramp operates within original equipment specifications, including smooth and safe operation of the hydraulic lift mechanism, maintaining the ramp capacity and supporting infrastructure integrity, and appropriate corrosion control. The solicitation has two CLINs - CLIN 0001 covers the cleaning, lift/secure, and technical inspection, while CLIN 0002 covers the actual repair work. Vendors will only quote on CLIN 0001 in this solicitation, as the final price for CLIN 0002 will be subject to adjustment after the technical inspection. A site visit is scheduled for April 3, 2024, and vendor attendance is limited to one representative per company.

Solicitation W912CN-24-Q-0010 – LSV-7 Bow Ramp Repair Site Visit Question / Answer Sheet
Q1: Regarding PWS 5.1: Does the contractor need to collect and dispose of all growth from the cleaning to include what comes off underwater?
A1: The contractor does not need to collect or dispose of growth removed underwater, however the contractor must collect and dispose of growth and residue removed above the water.
Q2: Regarding PWS 5.3: If the barge rental duration goes through both CLIN 0001 (cleaning, lift/secure, and technical inspection) and CLIN 0002 (Repair), how should this be quoted?
A2: Acknowledge the barge will be required in both phases. For the purpose of this solicitation, vendors will only quote initially on CLIN 0001. The barge rental pricing should only be thru completion of the technical inspection for this CLIN. After the technical inspection, barge rental should be factored into the price of CLIN 0002 as well to cover the duration needed for the repair. As written in the CLIN 0002, the initial estimate of the repairs is set to $66,000.00. The final price will be subject to adjustment after the technical inspection is complete and firm price is established. CLIN 0002 pricing is not part of the quote for this solicitation.
