About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document addressing clarifications on band instruments required under Solicitation W912CL26QA029 for the Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command. The requirement involves the purchase of musical instruments for delivery to Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234, with questions due no later than close of business 12 August 2026 and offers due no later than close of business 17 August 2026.

Key clarifications from the Q&A include: CLIN 0011 references a Yamaha DM7-EX 120 Channel Digital Mixer paired with one CTL-DM7 Expansion unit (not a duplicate of CLIN 0010); Item Unique Identifiers (IUIDs) must be etched directly onto the instruments themselves rather than placed on cases, with separate IUIDs required for each timpani drum; the Government will not accept equivalent products and requires the exact manufacturers and model numbers specified in the CLIN schedule; vendors are not responsible for disposal of instruments being replaced; and equivalent product substitutions will not be considered, making adherence to specified models mandatory for technical acceptability.

1. CLIN 0011 – Yamaha 120-CH Digital Console- This appears to refer to the same (or essentially the same) 120-channel capability as the DM7-EX above. Please clarify whether this is a duplicate/overlapping requirement, a different model (e.g., a standalone DM7 without the CTL expansion), or another specific console.

A) We require one Yamaha DM7-EX 120 Channel Digital Mixer and one CTL-DM7 Expansion.

2. If distinct from CLIN 0010, provide the exact model number and configuration required.

A) Please see previous response.

3. For the IUID, do we expect to place those on the case or to etch onto the instruments themselves? Normally we apply them to the case, but I am not sure if that is what is desired here.

A) IUID on the Instrument themselves.

4. For the timpani, should a separate IUID be placed on each drum?

A) Yes, IUID should be placed on each drum.

5. As these are replacements, are we to dispose of the instruments that are being replaced?

A) No vendor will not be responsible for the disposal of current instruments.

6. Is the Government requiring the exact manufacturers and model numbers identified in the CLIN schedule, or will equivalent products be considered?

A) No, equivalent products will not be considered.

7. If equivalent products are acceptable, will the Government please provide the specific salient characteristics or minimum performance requirements that will be used to determine technical acceptability for each CLIN?

A) N/A
