Contractor Submitted Questions & Answers Building 1026 Flooring Replacement
Q: Is there an Environmental Plan?
A: If asbestos detected, vendor should address in accordance to state requirements.
Q: What is the building number?
A: Building 1026
Q: Will lead time be granted to secure materials in addition to the 30 day installation?
A: Yes.
Q: Will order time for securing material be included within the 30 day installation requirement?
A: Yes, unless lead time is requested (exact time needed for receipt of materials) in addition to the 30 day installation requirement.
Q: Will the Government accept readily available carpet/tiles?
A: Yes
Q: What are the hallways/high traffic areas indicated by blue areas (arrows) to be?
A: LVT
Q: Who will be responsible for moving the vending machines?
A: Vending machines moved by AAFES.
Q: Is the Contractor authorized to move items as needed?
A: Yes, with the exception of employee’s personal item(s)/laptop.
Q: What is the square footage of section 114B?
A: Square footage of 114B is the same as 114A.
Q: Who will be responsible for moving electronics (TV’s, monitors, copy machines and the like)?
A: Copiers, fax machines to be moved as needed by contractor.
Q: Who will move employee’s personal items/computer?
A: Employees will box up their personal items and take the assigned laptop with them.
Q: Is the expectation to match the existing 12 x 12 floor tiles?
A: No specification has been made to match existing floor tiles.
Q. Can alternative solutions be submitted/accepted?
A: Alternative solutions can be submitted and will be reviewed and possibly accepted if it meets all technical requirements.
Q: Are the tiles in front of the water fountains to be removed and replaced with the new flooring?
A: Match LVT, no, as long as we determine it flows with LVT is chosen.
Q: Is the trim to be replaced within the auditorium on the stage?
A: Yes.
Q: Is the auditorium considered a high traffic area?
A: No, Auditorium is not considered a high traffic area.
Q: Is the ramp within the auditorium to be included?
A: No
Q: Is the trim to be replaced within the stair area of the auditorium?
A: Yes
Q: Does the ramp in the auditorium remain “as is”?
A: Yes
Q: Bull nose aluminum or plastic trim within the auditorium?
A: either option considered acceptable
Q: Please confirm and acknowledge there are areas against the wall (cubicles) where back board (bull nose) cannot be replaced due to limited access due to cubicle placement. If there is additional guidance please clarify.
A: If there is no accessibility submit alternate course of action in quote.
Q: How many cubicles are in each bay?
A: Bay 107 = 15 cubicles Bay 110 B = 15 cubicles Bay 111 B = 15 cubicles Bay S4 = 6 cubicles
Q: Will there be dumpsters provided on site?
A: Vendor must bring their dumpster and coordinate with COR for location on site for dumpster, if needed.
Q: What is the process for base access for employees?
A: Contractor shall coordinate with the COR for base access.
Q: Will full access be granted to the entire building during preparation and installation?
A: Office staff shall vacate the building during the work day to allow for an uninterrupted work process.
Q: Will you be providing an electronic copy of the handout we received today at the site visit?
A: Yes, included within the amendment.
Q: Regarding aluminum bullnose in Auditorium step down floor and stage area: Will the bullnose replacement be aluminum (as is) or rubber bullnose which is now more of an industry standard?
A: Rubber bull nose is acceptable.
Q: On the step down floor area (auditorium): Can we use cove base or do you prefer carpet?
A: Cove base is acceptable.
Q: Can the VCT flooring be replaced with the new LVT? Due to the small footprint in that area, this will alleviate the transition piece and the finish will match.
A: VCT can be matched.
