AMENDMENT 0001
Amendment 0001 The below questions were asked by potential bidders. Please see the questions and Government responses below.
Question 1: It appears that drawing 907-B406-01 Paint Schedule is missing. Can that be provided?
Answer 1: The drawing package that was posted was a prior version. The correct updated drawing package is being provided with this Amendment. Potential bidders should be advised there are changes among various drawings through the package.
Question 2: There are references to anodes throughout the specification but drawing 907-B405-01 Anode Arrangement appears to be missing. Can that be provided?
Answer 2: The requirement for anodes has been removed. All references to anode or anode arrangement should be ignored.
Question 3: There are references to mat stacks and dunnage through the specification. Are these to be furnished by the builder?
Answer 3: No. The mat stacks and associated dunnage are what the revetment barges will carry after vessel delivery. These are Government made and owned and not the responsibility of the builder to provide.
Additionally, it appears there is conflicting information regarding the period of performance between Section F, Required Delivery Schedule, Section H and Delivery Information. The period of performance should read as follows:
Base Contract: 490 days, total Phase 1 – 90 Calendar Days Phase 2 – 340 Calendar Days Phase 3 – 30 Calendar Days
There are 15 Calendar Days between Phase 1 and Phase 2, and another 15 Calendar Days between Phase 2 and Phase 3.
Option 1: 30 Additional Calendar Days Should Option 1 be exercised, the period of performance will be 520 Calendar Days.
Option 2: 30 Additional Calendar Days Should Option 2 be exercised, the period of performance will be 520 Calendar Days.
Should Options 1 and 2 both be exercised, 60 calendar days will be added to the contract period of performance for a total of 550 Calendar Days.
Finally, a requirement for drawing package submission has been added to the scope of work. The Contractor shall receive the contract drawings from the Marine Design Center. The contractor is responsible to submit these drawings to ABS for class approval of the engineering. Any engineering effort required to resolve technical comments will be completed by the Government, resubmitted to ABS by the contractor, and the changes will be incorporated into the contract via modification. All drawing related coordination with ABS on this project shall be handled directly by the Contractor. All expenses associated with the acquisition of the required reviews, inspections, construction support, classing and certification shall be borne by the contractor
