If applicable a licensed land surveyor shall also provide, set and verify as built condition of major flood control structures/features; i.e. flood wall control. These surveys shall provide and verify both horizontal and vertical project control. This survey shall be used for final as-built embankment profile and cross section, and major flood control structure records, and recorded on the as-built condition in accordance with Section, As-Built Drawings.

The Contractor may utilize their own quality control personnel to provide interim surveys for quantity determination for payment in accordance with paragraph entitled Quantity Surveys (Apr 1984).

Access road areas shall be restored to their original or suitable condition upon completion of this contract. The Contractor shall be responsible for repair of damage to existing roads caused by the Contractor's operation.

1.7.2 Joint Use of Transportation Facilities

The Contractor may use jointly with Contractors and others, existing access and haul roads constructed by the Government or by others. Unless otherwise specifically authorized in writing, the Contractor will not be granted exclusive use of any access or haul road whether it be an existing road or one constructed by the Contractor. However, the use by others of roads constructed by or assigned to the Contractor primarily for the Contractor's use will be limited by the Contracting Officer to the minimum considered consistent with efficient prosecution of the work under this and other contracts in force. Maintenance of jointly used facilities

SECTION 01 12 00 Page 3 shall be shared in proportion to use. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT

SCOPE

This section covers the methods and procedures which will be used to measure the Contractor's work and to determine payment.

GENERAL

The general outline of the principal features of each item as listed does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor for making a thorough investigation of the Drawings and Specifications to determine the scope of work under the entire Contract. Payment to the Contractor of the amounts based on the quantities of work as measured in accordance with the specified methods of measurement and the prices stipulated in the accepted proposal will constitute complete compensation for all work shown on the Drawings, provided in the specifications or other Contract Documents and all costs of accepting the general risks, liabilities and obligations expressed or implied. Payment under all items shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, compensation for furnishing all supervision, labor, equipment, materials and services (including overhead and profit), as well as performing all work required to accomplish and complete the work specified under each item and all other work required.

LUMP SUM ITEMS

Quantities

The quantities under lump sum items will not be measured except for the purpose of determining reasonable interim payments.

Interim Payments

Interim payments will be made in accordance with the estimated value of work done as determined by the COR or as specified in this section, and in accordance with contract clause for payments.

PARTS 1 THROUGH 10: BASIC CONTRACT - REGRADE SPILLWAY CHANNEL SLOPES AND

PLACE RIPRAP (STA 14+50 THROUGH STA 24+00)

PART 1 BID ITEM 0001 - MOBILIZATION AND DEMOBILIZATION

1.1 Work Included

The work of this item shall include, but not be limited to, all labor, equipment, materials, transportation, and performing all operations in connection with the Contractor's mobilization to, and demobilization from, the project site.

1.2 Measurement

Unit of measure: Lump Sum

SECTION 01 22 00 Page 5

1.3 Payment

Payment will be made for costs associated with mobilization and demobilization, as defined in Special Contract Requirements PAYMENT FOR

MOBILIZATION AND DEMOBILIZATION.

PART 2 BID ITEM 0002 - DEVELOP AND RESTORE RANDOM FILL BORROW SITE

2.1 BID ITEM 0002A - STRIP TOPSOIL FROM BORROW SITES

2.1.1 Work Included

The work includes all material, equipment and labor required for stripping six (6) inches of topsoil from the random fill borrow site identified in the drawings. Topsoil will be stockpiled in a location adjacent to the borrow sites to be approved by the COR.

2.1.2 Measurement

Cubic Yard. The quantity of topsoil shall be determined based on a pre and final survey of the topsoil in place. The surveys shall be at the contractors expense. Measurements will be made to the nearest one tenth (0.1) foot. Volumes shall be determined to the nearest whole cubic yard using the average end area method. Cubic yardage of excavation shall be determined by quantity survey cross sections performed at a spacing not to exceed 50 feet or whenever a change in geometry occurs, whichever is more frequent. The quantity of stripping shall not be measured.

2.1.3 Payment

Applicable unit price times the number of cubic yards of topsoil.

2.2 BID ITEM 0002B - EXCAVATE RANDOM FILL FOR SPILLWAY CHANNEL SLOPE

REGRADING

2.2.1 Work Included

The work includes all material, equipment, and labor required for excavating the required quantity of random fill from the borrow sites identified on the drawings. Work will include hauling random fill borrow from the borrow sites to the spillway channel slope regrading areas.

2.2.2 Measurement

Cubic Yard. The quantity of random fill shall be determined based on a pre and final survey of the borrow site.

2.2.3 Payment

Applicable unit price times the number of cubic yards of random fill material.

SECTION 01 22 00 Page 6

2.3 BID ITEM 0002C - REPLACE TOPSOIL

2.3.1 Work Included

The work inlcudes all material, equipment, and labor required for replacing stockpiled topsoil after random fill borrow excavations are completed.

2.3.2 Measurement

The quantity of topsoil to be replaced at the borrow sites shall match the quanitity stripped in in BID ITEM 0002A.
