Question:
Does this island have Rental Cars or Hotels for the inspectors to utilize during their visit? Or would other accommodations be available?
Answer:
There are no rental cars on Kwajalein as there are no privately owned vehicles on Kwajalein. The lodging facility is within walking distance from the fuel farm but contractors sometimes bring bicycles with them or ship in a conex box with other equipment needed. Kwajalein does have golf carts for rent through MWR should the need arise for the contractors to transport anything substantial. If a shipment is sent to Kwajalein, that will be delivered directly to the fuel farm once it arrives and the local POCs will submit a movement request to get it to the fuel farm.
Kwajalein has TDY lodging and it will be booked for you through USACE. Contractors will have to eat via the dining facility on site and will receive meal cards to do so. This will also be arranged thru USACE. Lodging will be paid for by the contractors directly at the housing office and can be reimbursed by their company. USACE will work with you to get all of that reserved, paperwork submitted, etc.
