Questions from PBSO – Tree Trimming/Removal Site Visit

March 4, 2020 – 10 A.M.

1. Does this requirement require work on the river levees or just in the parks?

The work included in this requirement is solely for Corps owned parks on Corps grounds.

2. Is this on a size class or tree-by-tree basis?

No, not to exceed those quantities.

3. Define Normal versus Emergency calls.

With Emergency calls, you have a shorter time to respond and get the work done.

Normal service calls you have a longer time to respond, within the requirements of the contract.

4. What about the Forestry Mulching line item? Is there any forestry mulching anticipated?

Currently, forestry mulching depends on the funding. It is our lowest priority at this time.

5. The requirement is referring to dead, dying, and dangerous trees?

Yes.

6. How many parks are there in this requirement?

Pool 2 – Four Campgrounds, Two Day Use;

Pool 3 – One Campground, Two Day Use;

Pool 4 – Two Day Use;

Pool 5 – One Campground, One Day Use;

Pool 6 – One Campground and Two Day Use

7. Will campers be using the facilities during the time the work is needed?

Yes, unless the park is closed. Few parks will be closed, however, when the contractor needs access, Government personnel will provide access.

8. Will this be a contract where the contractor will be contacted to provide services?

Yes, this would be considered a service call.

9. Will the contractor meet with Government personnel on the site that needs the service?

Yes, Government personnel will issue a written work order and coordinate with the contractor to schedule the service call.

10. What is the response time on Emergency calls?

4 hours.

11. Does this requirement include maintenance of the grounds?

No, the contractor is only responsible for tree trimming and removal. Should there be any limbs or branches on the ground as a result of the contractor’s trimming or removal, the contractor IS responsible for removing those and taking them to a disposal site.

12. Are the contractors responsible for disposing or does the Corps have their own disposal sites?

There are currently disposal sites in or near each of the work areas.
