SUMMARY OF CHANGES
SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE (SF 30)
The following have been added by full text:
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE TO INQUIRIES:
Question: Section 01 22 00.00 26 (Price and Payment Procedures) Paragraph 1.1 (Retainage of Payment), requires 10% of overall payment withheld until final submittals, O&Ms and final drawings, are approved by the Government. However, Section 01 33 00 (Submittal Procedures) Paragraph 1.16 (Withholding of Payment) sets these percentages at 0.5% for final O&Ms and 1% for final Drawings. Which is correct? Considering this solicitation is a Small Business set-aside, we would assume the latter.
Government Response: 10% retainage will be withheld.
Question: Section 01 50 00 Paragraphs 1.5 and 2.2.4 require backflow preventers. Are these required? If so, what are they to be used for?
Government Response: There is no requirement for backflow preventers.
Question: Section 01 50 00 Paragraph 3.2 contradicts Section 01 14 00 Paragraph 1.6 regarding utilities. Will water, electricity and the use of government sanitary facilities be made available to the contractor free of charge?
Government Response: Government will provide electricity; the contractor will be responsible for all other facilities.
Question: Section 01 50 00 Paragraph 3.4.2 requires administrative field offices. Can the contractor setup a small area inside with a desk and computer close to the work instead of a site trailer?
Government Response: No; contractor will have to provide a site trailer for a field office.
Question: Section 03 60 00.01 26 is included in this solicitation for concrete work. However, it is not clear what concrete work is required. The only possible work would be removing existing channels beneath the existing equipment specified in Paragraph 1.4.b. The contractor needs details of this embedded channel to determine method and scope of removal. Additionally, all provided equipment is intended to be anchored directly to the concrete floor and does not require additional channels to be installed.
Government Response: Section 03 60 00.01 26, Paragraph 1.4 (more specifically), describes what to do in the event that concrete work needs to be done.
