PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT
FY 2018 Annual Volunteer Workshop 17-21 May 2018
C.1 BACKGROUND
The Annual Volunteer Workshop (AVW) is an annual event held to increase resilience and life skills of military members, dependents, DoD civilians, and Volunteers of Virgin Islands National Guard. The event is normally held over a weekend during the third quarter of the fiscal year alternating between island districts. The event includes general and break out sessions and is usually open to military and civilian members for the Family Readiness Group (FRG) Leadership and Structure. Breakout sessions generally focus on specific life skills and Emergency Management Operations which would be beneficial to increase FRG participation, development, and resilience of unit FRGs as well as establish a formidable manpower base to enhance Family Assistance Center Operations. AVW also provides an opportunity for civilian adults to network with their military peers and share experiences unique to the military lifestyle, deployment, re-deployment, and Emergency Family Assistance during Catastrophic Events.
C.2 OBJECTIVE
