About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for solicitation W9127N25QA084 for BONN STS Fish Mesh Screen Panels. The procurement is a competitive action using a Total Small Business Set Aside for a routine supply purchase, with no current incumbent vendor. The project involves fish mesh screen panels made entirely of Poly Butylene Terephthalate, with a custom frame built separately and the screen attached to it. Previous related award numbers include W9127N25P0031, W9127N24P0031, W9127N18P0106, and W9127N16P0115. Potential vendors should note that alternative materials like stainless steel would require a lengthy approval process from the Fish Passage Operation Management (FPOM) and NOAA Fisheries, and must maintain translucency for fish passage.

W9127N25QA084: BONN STS Fish Mesh Screen Panels – Q&As
1. Is there any incumbent/recompete or this is a brand-new project? If yes, please provide award number(s) or whether the customer bought similar services (supplies) in the past?
A: This is a competitive action using Total Small Business Set Aside for a routine supply purchase. There is no incumbent vendor, and we do not have any information on a recompete at the moment. Some of the previous award numbers are W9127N25P0031, W9127N24P0031, W9127N18P0106, and W9127N16P0115.
2. Is there any other documentation, product data sheets, specifications on Poly Butylene Terephthalate?
A: No. Only information that can be found online. This is the only approved product at this time.
3. Is the frame made from carbon steel, 3" x 1" for the top and bottom and 2" x 1" for the sides?
A: There is no frame with these panels. They are made out of the Poly Butylene Terephthalate completely. We build a frame out of other parts and attach the screen to them.
4. Would it also be possible to make the submerged traveling fish screens entirely from stainless steel?
A: No, not without a lengthy process of approval. This would have to be sourced and approved by the Fish Passage Operation Management (FPOM) and NOAA Fisheries to be used. It also has to be translucent to the fish.
