Industry Inquiries and Government Responses in regards to W9127N24Q0093.

Government answers are listed in bold, italicized font.

1. Can you please confirm the weight limits of each of dam/spill way/bridge that you have to cross from the Washington side (via WA State Highway 14) to get to the Bonneville Dam Powerhouse 2?

a. There is one bridge crossing designed for HL-93 truck loading.

Note: It is likely that the contractor will use the roll up door for access on the tailrace deck, meaning the only “bridge” that will need to be crossed is the fishway between the guard shack and powerhouse.

2. Can you please provide any drawings and specifications particular for the floor loading for north end and south end of the Powerhouse where the load testing can be performed?

a. The powerhouse floor is rated for 1,000 psf.

3. Can you please provide any drawings and specifications particular for the floor loading for north end and south end of the Powerhouse where the load testing can be performed?

a. The tandem testing load test does not need to have the spreader beam (lifting beam) between the hoists.

4. If the beam may be removed, what distance is allowable between the main hoists?

a. 19’-3” no more or less. This is to maintain the same loading on the girder above if we had the lifting beam.

5. What is the approximate distance from the load testing area to the river that will be used to fill/drain water?

a. 100 feet, and it will be a fire hydrant that will be used.
