Specification Questions and Answers
1. Would girth welds be acceptable if 100% inspected (PAUT or RT)?
No. Girth welds wash out and would need to be replaced more often.
2. Is ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel code weld procedures considered acceptable?
Yes, it is acceptable.
3. Are the pipe ends to be square or beveled? Or either?
Pipe ends should be square.
4. Weld quality was not addressed in the solicitation, full penetration or 100%?
Weld quality should be 100%.
5. Are standard commercial markings acceptable in lieu of unique item identifier?
Your identifiers work, we just need to have a way to differentiate the pipe during shipping.
