SECTION 01 10 10.00 25 Page 3 Amendment 0001 used by the Government to select a Contractor; rather it will be used to ensure that the Contractor is capable of accomplishing the necessary work in the allotted time periods. The schedule must be consistent with the completion dates as specified in Section 00 73 00 Contract Clause 52.211-10, COMMENCEMENT, PROSECUTION, AND COMPLETION OF WORK. Other Contractor's work must also be coordinated in accordance with Contract Clause 52.236-8, OTHER CONTRACTS.

b. Submit an updated schedule for Government approval on a monthly basis. The updated schedule will be used as a basis to evaluate the Contractor's progress for purposes of payment. Lack of an updated schedule will result in an inability of the Contracting Officer to perform a full evaluation of the Contractor's progress and will result in the Contracting Officer withholding payment until an updated schedule has been submitted and approved.

1.5 WORK RESTRICTIONS

The Government has established interim construction completion dates, described as "Levee Work Periods." The Levee Work Period is the only period that excavations may occur and that the flood protection capability of the levee may be degraded. The levee must be fully rebuilt prior to the end of the Levee Work Period. The Levee Work Period established for this Contract is: May 1st through September 30th.

The Contractor's schedule must reflect adverse weather days in all weather dependent activities as defined in Contract Clause 52.236-4, PHYSICAL DATA. Protect work areas from inclement weather, wind damage, and precipitation so that no delay in the prosecution of critical work items, or damage to USACE property occurs. No time extensions will be authorized for materials, work in place, or equipment damaged due to negligence during periods of inclement weather.

1.7 WORK BY THE GOVERNMENT CONCURRENT WITH CONTRACTOR WORK

The Government will limit interference with the Contractor's work to the maximum reasonable extent and the Government and Contractor shall coordinate as necessary.

Weekly coordination meetings must be held between the Contractor and the Government. This meeting will be used to discuss Contractor's safety, Quality Control Program, joint risk management, submittals, deficiencies, Contract administration, schedule, actual progress in the last week, and work planned in the upcoming two weeks. Any work requiring Project support or potential impacts to Project operations or maintenance must be noted. During the Preconstruction Meeting, the Government will determine responsibility of running this meeting. If the Government elects to run the coordination meeting, the Contractor must provide a two week look ahead, with the previous week as-builts, 48 hours before each weekly meeting to the Government representative. The responsible party must prepare and distribute, by e-mail, the coordination meeting agenda with a two week look ahead no later than 24 hours before each meeting. however, runs between terminal posts shall not exceed 500 feet. Any damage to galvanized surfaces, including welding, shall be repaired with paint containing zinc dust in accordance with ASTM A780/A780M .

3.2 EXCAVATION

Clear loose material from all post holes. Spread waste material where directed. Eliminate ground surface irregularities along the fence line to the extent necessary to maintain a 2 inch clearance between the bottom of the fabric and finish grade.

3.3 FENCE POST INSTALLATION

For wood posts (Farm Style Fence), excavate to depth indicated and brace post until backfill is completed. Place soil backfill (approved satisfactory materials) in layers of 9 inches or less, moistened to optimum condition, and compacted with hand tampers or other approved method. Set posts plumb and in proper alignment. A minimum embedment depth of 2.5 feet must be achieved for each post.

3.4 ELECTRIC WIRE

Install two 12-gauge electric wires on the north side of the fence. The wire spacing from the ground surface shall be 16 inches for the bottom wire and between 34 to 40 inches for the top wire.Pull wires taut to provide a smooth uniform appearance, free from sag. Fasten wire to posts using insulated fasteners that allow the wire to flow or slide past line posts as necessary, unless indicated otherwise.

3.5 GATE ASSEMBLY

For farm style fencing, provide standard metal gate assemblies with frame

SECTION 32 31 26.00 25 Page 4 Amendment 0001 and fittings necessary for complete installation.

3.6 GROUNDING

Ground fences on each side of all gates, at each corner, at the closest approach to each building located within 50 feet of the fence, and where the fence alignment changes more than 15 degrees. Grounding locations shall not exceed 650 feet. Each gate panel shall be bonded with a flexible bond strap to its gate post. Ground fences crossed by powerlines of 600 volts or more at or near the point of crossing and at distances not exceeding 150 feet on each side of crossing. Ground conductor shall consist of No. 8 AWG solid copper wire. Grounding electrodes shall be 3/4 inch by 10 foot long copper-clad steel rod. Drive electrodes into the earth so that the top of the electrode is at least 6 inches below the grade. Where driving is impracticable, bury electrodes a minimum of 12 inches deep and radially from the fence. The top of the electrode shall not be less than 2 feet or more than 8 feet from the fence. Clamp ground conductor to the fence and electrodes with bronze grounding clamps to create electrical continuity between fence posts, fence fabric, and ground rods. After installation, the total resistance of fence to ground shall not be greater than 25 ohms.
